MATH TOOLBELT, TOOLBOX, OR TOOLKIT

Preparing your Toolbelt, Toolbox, or Toolkit is quick and easy.

Simply print and cut out the math tools. If colored ink is not in the budget,

but you want to add some color then print the tools on colored cardstock or

paper.

You can always go with white cardstock. Have your students outline and

color-in the math tools with markers, highlighters, colored pencils, and/or

colors.

I highly recommend you laminate the math tools. They’ll last so much longer

and your students will be able to write on them with dry erase markers.

Place the math tools in a caddy, bin, bag, can, bucket, tote, basket, folder, or

any other container.

Let your creativity flow when designing your Math Toolbelt, Toolbox, or

Toolkit.

I’ve included templates and images for a toolbelt, loops, pockets,

nameplates, and labels. You can cut or trace the images on scrapbook paper

or cardstock. Glue the pieces to a manila folder or any other container.

If creativity strikes, then use bordette or fabric to form the toolbelt. Use

scrapbook paper to cover the folder. Use library pockets from a teacher

supply store. Use fabric, buttons, brads, and any other bobble you have on

hand. Have fun designing your Math Toolbelt, Toolbox, or Toolkit!!!

Toolbelt and Loops

• Print or trace the toolbelt(s) and

loops on Colored or White

Cardstock. You can also use

scrapbook paper – that’ll add some

flair!

• Cut out the toolbelt(s) and loops.

• Add glue to the back of each piece.

• Attach/Glue the toolbelt and loops to

the front of the folder. You can opt to

only glue the ends of each loop. This

will leave a gap between the loop

and the belt.

POCKETS

• Select the pocket(s) you want to

use on your folder.

• Print the pocket(s) on Colored

or White Cardstock.

• Cut out the pockets.

• Fold in the side flaps.

• Add glue to the flaps.

• Attach/Glue the pocket (by the

flaps) to the front of the folder.

NAMEPLATES• Select the nameplate(s) you want to use on

your folder. You can reduce or increase the

size of the images on a copy machine.

• Print the nameplate(s) on Colored or White

Cardstock.

• Cut out the nameplates.

• Attach/Glue the labels Math Toolbelt, Math

Toolbox, or Math Toolkit to the top of the

nameplate.

• Add glue to the back of the nameplate.

• Attach/Glue the nameplate to the front of the

folder.

LABELS• Select the label(s) you want to use on your

folder.

• Print the label(s) on Colored or White

Cardstock.

• Cut out the labels.

• Attach/Glue the labels to the top of the

nameplate.

• Add glue to the back of the nameplate.

• Attach/Glue the nameplate to the front of the

folder.
