Using the template provided hand each student a copy of their own worksheet. Have the students study the key at the top of the page until they become familiar with each currency and the value of each currency. Students will add differ-ent bills and coins together so the sum will equal the total shown on the worksheet. Have the students draw rectangles in pencil with the dollar amount needed in each equation to represent the bills. Have the students draw circles to represent the coins with the value placed in the center of each coin.

Have the students check their answer. Once their answer has been checked have the students color their bills and coins according to American curren-cy; be sure to include coloring the key.

Do a post assessment to determine what new knowledge the students have gained.
