Materials Research: Aluminum and tin Cans Weekly Journal 16 Oct 17 68% of Aluminum cans are recycled worldwide. It is most commonly used for packaging of beverages, food or oild and other chemicals or liquids. Tin cans are now primarily composed of aluminum because it is less costly and tin-plated steel but still resistant to corrosion while maintaining good malleability. Aluminum and tin cans are materials that almost everyone deals with on a daily basis. I am constantly throwing it into the recycling bin wondering if there was a way I could use it again. This journal will look at how aluminum and tin cans can be reused in practical ways. Can be stacked and layered to create functional pieces or furniture. They are strong but light at the same time. The caps of drinking cans can also be reused and linked together to create a fabric- like material that can be used to make useful products.

Tin and aluminum cans can be filled with dirt (like plastic bottles) and used as bricks for building.

Can be squished down to form flat circles, or can be cut to form thin sheets. His can be used like a fabric and can sew other pieces onto it, or it can be treated more like a building material like in the image below (aluminum siding of house)
