Monday: 1. Watch: Bravo, Maurice on Epic!

a. Laptop users: getepic.com/student b. App users: go to your app

2. Think about the story and discuss what happened in the beginning, middle and end of the story. Retell the story.

3. Using your black and white “journal” (composition book), draw a picture of your favorite part of the story in the empty box.

4. Then, on the handwriting lines, write the title Bravo, Maurice on the top line and write a sentence about your favorite part

a. Example: My favorite part was when ___________. (he was singing in the tub).

5. Review short /u/ vowel, identify short /u/ word families

7. Using ½ sheet of paper, write the word “she” on the front and “She” on the

back of a piece of paper. Try to use the word “she” throughout the day. “She is playing with my toys. I like when she shares with me.” Remember, if the word “She” is used at the beginning of your sentence, an upper case “S” is needed. Keep this sight word in a special folder for practice.

8. On a piece of doodle pad paper, draw a picture and write a sentence using the sight word “she”.

a. Example: draw a picture of mommy or grandma with sentence “She is my mom.” Or “She is my grnma” (allow children to use inventive spelling). Keep this activity in a special folder for the future.

9. Keep your sight word paper and your doodle pad picture with sentence in a

special folder for the future.

Tuesday: 1. Read Bravo Maurice on Epic! again then answer these questions

a. Q: Why is the family proud of Maurice? (He has a wonderful singing voice)

b. Q: How is Maurice different from the rest of the family? (He is the first singer in the family)

c. Q: What are the jobs Maurice’s family members do? (taxi driver, baker, writer, gardener)

d. Q: What jobs do your family members have? Mom? Dad? Grandma? Grandpa?

e. Using your black and white “journal” (composition book), draw what you want to be when you grow up. Write “I am good at ____. I want to be a ___ when I grow up.” Share with your family.
