International Conference on Advances in Concrete Technology, Materials & Construction Practices (CTMC 2016) is organised by Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi in association with Government Polytechnic Bicholim and University of Bath, UK. This activity is the outcome of the research project on “Development of structural concrete with help of plastic waste as a partial replacement for sand” under the Scheme of United Kingdom India Educational Research Initiatives (UKIERI) sponsored by British High Commission. The conference also marks the golden jubilee year celebrations of Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi and University of Bath, UK.

United Kingdom India Educational Research Initiatives (UKIERI) ProjectBritish Council awarded the prestigious United Kingdom India Educational Research Initiatives (UKIERI) Scheme which is a joint venture of Government of India and British High Commission, to the project on “Development of structural concrete using plastic waste as partial replacement for sand” jointly submitted by Government Polytechnic, Bicholim and University of Bath, UK. The project duration is of two years (2014-2016) and research work is being carried out at Government Polytechnic, Bicholim, M/s. Aakaash Manufacturing Co. Pvt. Ltd. Kundai ( technology partners) and University of Bath.

Goa Engineering College, FarmagudiFounded in 1967, Goa College of Engineering is the oldest engineering college in Goa, located in picturesque and serene environment on hillock of Farmagudi, covering 268 acres of land. The College is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Goa University. Institute conducts seven four-year degree courses viz. CALL FOR PAPERS & DATES TO REMEMBERAbstracts up to 300 words, typed in single spacing on one side of the paper, in Times new Roman font (12pt) mentioning the area of work, methodology adopted and important results shall be mailed to the address mentioned for communication, in pdf format. The theme shall be prominently written on top right hand corner of the page. The abstract shall also mention the names of all contributing authors and their affiliations. Proceedings in hard format will include extended abstracts of 2 pages, while Conference CD will contain full papers of 6-8 pages length. Efforts are on for publishing a special issue of a Journal containing selected papers from this conference.
