General properties and examples of usage

Economical, frequently used steels. No pre-heating is needed to weld GS 38 and GS 45 steels.

The values for the mechanical properties apply to tempered steelwith a wall thickness of approx. 40 mm.

Low-alloy steels are mainly suitable for heavy-duty and load-bearingconstructions because the mechanical properties are guaranteed toremain consistent across the whole cross-section of the material.Quenching with water, oil or air means that more complex pieceswith large differences in cross-section can be heat-treated.

GS-20MnMo5 5 is an economical steel for cross-sections with adiameter of up to 50 mm. GS-20MnCrMo5 is a steel for cross-sections with a diameter of up to100 mm.

Compressor housings, valve housings, pumps, fittings, petroleumindustry. The GS-22Ni10 and GS-10Ni14 quality steels are alsoresistant to alternating stresses.
