    Th e ETA - p r o c e ss d r a m a t i c a l l yr e d u c e s e n e rg y c o n s u m p t i o n

    Traditional PET dryer designs require large water coolers to reduce thetemperature of the air exiting the drying bin prior to its return to thedry air generator.

    The ETA-process heat reclamation system uses the exhaust heatfrom the drying bin to preheat the process air coming from the dryer.

    The result is that less heat (energy) is used to increase thetemperature of the process air. An additional advantage is thelowering of the return air temperature, thereby drastically reducingthe size of the return air cooler.

    PET granules have a low water content and require the highestamount of the energy consumption to simply heat up the PET materialto its processing temperature. These facts require the design of PETspecific drying technologies. An auxiliary blower is used in the 1- zonedrying solution to support the energy transfer into the material in avery cost efficient way. For PET drying systems with high throughputs,the 2-zone drying technology guarantees lowest operating costs. Thepreheating circuit in the upper zone of the drying bin heats thematerial up to drying temperature with high efficiency.
