What is Matariki?Matariki is a celebration of Maori New Year. It is on the

shortest day of the year and is almost always in June. The seven stars appear at the time we celebrate Matariki. It also is the time when we say good bye to the past and greet the New Year

Presentations by the students

Juanita asked the classrooms to get up on the stage. She told them what to do if they didn't have a skit to present. Our class did the Hokey Tokey. We didn’t do to very well, but at least we tried and it was fun but really embarrassing.

House groups & classes

All of the class rooms and house groups did a presentation to the school and community . All the house groups performed a haka (I think). Room 1 did a little dance to a song, Room 4 a skit about Tangaroa, Room 3 told a story, Year 9’s a chant and the year 10’s sang a song.
