Welcome back to Falling to Masterpieces, an artistic alphabet legacy. Andy baked you dessert! Grab a piece, settle in, and away we go . . .

(This chapter marks the point where I had begun to play again after a four year hiatus, so this is the first current chapter I have written in a long time!)

Page 3: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

“In the last chapter Mom and Dad had ten kids, including us, Alphonse. They took care of us kids and we all had a lot of birthdays, and the older five left for college. Not much else happened.”

“Okay . . . But why are you telling me, Anjolie?”

“Narrative convenience.”

Page 4: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

The youngest boys, numbers 9 and 10, Andrea and Arthur, are still little toddlers who require a lot of attention. Lucky for them they’re quite adorable. Since they’re the final toddlers of this generation, there’s no rush to get to the next set of kids and they actually learn all their skills, unlike most of their older siblings.

Page 5: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

The cats in the house are the grey-colored Charcoal and the dark brown (sigh!) Pastel. They get a lot of attention from all of the kids and are also on great terms with each other. They spend a lot of time playing with humans or the other cat, and are *terrible* at taking care of their needs as a result. After one too many shifts of them going to work miserable because they wouldn’t sleep or eat at convenient times, I had them quit their jobs. They’ll just have to be house cats.

Page 6: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Now that she’s not constantly pregnant or taking care of newborns – or taking care of newborns while pregnant – simRoxy has a lot more time and energy on her hands, most of which she dedicates to playing computer games. Geez, how unrealistic! *whistles innocently*

Page 7: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Andy is one of my favorite kids of the generation because he looks just like Hiery, and, as a family sim, he’s a great help around the house. Looking at the profiles here you can see how much Hiery and Andy look alike, right down to the elf ears. I’m delighted to have a little Hiery Jr. running around the house taking care of the littler ones.

Page 8: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Something you want to tell me, Hiery?

“Nope, just randomly making cheesecake to freak you out.”

The only time I usually see cheesecake in my game is when I’m force-feeding it to pregnant sims, so it cracked me up that Hiery just decided to make some, just because.

Page 9: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

The leader of the pack shows up one night while Alphonse and Anjolie are goofing around outside, and Alphonse decides to greet him. The LotP then goes straight upstairs to destroy a firetruck that simRoxy had lovingly crafted.

“Um, I don’t really think scolding a wild wolf is such a good idea, but, er, would you please stop tearing the firetruck apart? Thanks, that’d be great.”

Page 10: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Later, Charcoal goes to work on the same firetruck, an unusual bit of disobedience from the usually well-behaved kitties.

Why do the animals hate my firetruck?

Page 11: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

After a long weekend playing in the snow, it’s time to return to school. None of the kids ever got into private school. I feel kind of bad because in the rush to have and then raise to teen years ten kids, the individual kids didn’t get the kind of childhood I normally prefer to give my sim kids. But I guess that’s life in a too-big family. Luckily for whoever is chosen heir, the next generation will be very different from this one. I think it will be a long time, if ever, before I go for the 10 kids want again. Even for me, that’s just too many.

Page 12: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

While the older three are away at school and the toddlers play quietly in the nursery, Hiery and simRoxy have some time to themselves. They’re still very much in love and autonomously hug and kiss all the time. It’s been a long time since there’s been quiet in the house and they take full advantage of it.

Page 13: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Winter seems to last forever, and the kids are still having snow days from school well into the spring, leaving them plenty of time to play in the front yard. Even Andy joins in to make a snowman.

Page 14: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Andy’s smustle fever has not abated and he’s often a bad influence on the other members of the house. Oh well! It does make for plenty of amusing pictures, especially when Hiery and his mini-me smustle together, even occasionally in time.

Page 15: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

“Kids. Kids! Come on, I’m trying to neaten up the house a bit here. I don’t have time for your shenanigans.

What’s that? Smustle with you?”

Page 16: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

“Oh okay, but only because your father’s doing it too.”

Page 17: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

“Hey little Andrea (or Arthur – hard to tell, really). Are you ready for the Night of a Thousand Birthdays?”

Page 18: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

First up is Hiery, who drops a bottle to grow up while in the middle of parenting. With a change of clothes (he grew up in jodhpurs, sadly) and a new haircut, he still is very cute. Hiery is one of my favorite sims that I’ve ever made and I’m relieved to see he aged well.

Page 19: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

The second and third birthdays that night belong to the twins. One of them is caught in the nursery, but the other one has to be chased down the hall to the playroom before he’s ready to grow up.

Page 20: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

And mass pillowfights break out. Of course. They’ve also managed to surround the singular point in the entire house where the walkway gets down to one square. This results in a lot of jostling for place and frustration when the next birthday rolls around.

Page 21: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Birthday number four is Anjolie’s and she grows into a stunning teen. She seems to get more beautiful with every birthday. She rolls romance and her lifetime want is to woohoo 20 sims. Much better than having 20 loves, in my opinion. Luckily, this is one I’ve done before and the other time I completed it all in college, so she may get her wish.

Page 22: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Birthday number five, and the final one of the Night of a Thousand Birthdays, is simRoxy’s. It’s kind of a weird thing to watch your simself get old, but she doesn’t look too bad so that’s good, I guess.

Page 23: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Here’s the twins, once again clad in matching clothes. As far as I can tell, they really are identical. They get along great and had a very close relationship from early in their childhood.

Page 24: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Although romance sims are not well known for being good with family, Anjolie is a great big sister. She played with the twins in the nursery all the time and now that they are older she still talks with, congratulates, and tickles them often.

Page 25: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

While Hiery smustles in the background, all the kids have breakfast together at the big table, for the first and last time. Andy cooked the pancakes. He’s quite the little baker.

Page 26: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Later that day, both Andy and Anjolie head off to college. There’s been a bit of a break between the oldest five and the youngest five, so I’m keeping them that way in college. Andy and Anjolie are heading off to a dorm all their own, across campus from the one their older brothers and sisters inhabit.

Page 27: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

That evening, with my game on fast speed, simRoxy gets abducted while stargazing. When she’s returned several hours later, Hiery rushes out to the street immediately to welcome her back and to reassure her. She may have the marker of a bad event hanging over her head, but simRoxy is all smiles in her husband’s embrace.

Page 28: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Arthur apparently thinks this is hilarious and begins to gossip about it to anyone that will listen.

Page 29: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

They may be old now, but Hiery and simRoxy still live a full life, and are still raising three little boys. Hiery continues his work as Captain Hero, and simRoxy is a midlevel journalist of some sort. They also take time to teach their youngest sons to do homework.

Page 30: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

So, here’s the deal with this Servo. Hiery made a Servo that we intended to have help with the kids. According to my pictures, Avery initiated her, but I’m not sure what I did for that to happen, because he looked like an adult. Possibly I had him visit from college and made him selectable to turn the Servo on. I don’t remember, because this all happened four plus years ago. Anyway, when I got back into my game, the Servo now lives in the college sim bin apparently, instead of back at the Masterpiece household where she should be. I haven’t tried loading her up yet because I’m afraid of how glitchy this might turn out to be. Just thought you guys might like to know how I’ve screwed up my game. ;)

Oh, and the Servo’s name? Mona Lisa. Maybe we’ll see her next chapter if I figure this out.

Page 31: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

“Hey, did you know Mom got abducted? Who knows what they did to her!”

Dammit, Arthur, stop gossiping about me!

Page 32: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Alphonse grows up and doesn’t even get the courtesy of a makeover before being shipped off to college. Our only mean sim of the generation is a pleasure sim with the desire to be a celebrity chef.

Page 33: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

It seems pretty silly, but it kind of freaks me out to see simRoxy old. It just hits a little close to home, I guess. Anyway, when I lighten up and get used to it, she’s a very entertaining elder. Like nearly all of the Masterpieces, she’s playful and does some funny stuff when left to her own devices.

Page 34: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Let’s take a break from the commentary for a Cute Twins Montage.

They’re always together!

Page 35: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

When a lightening fire strikes in the backyard, Hiery rushes out in his undies to take care of it. Later, he comes back in to check on his kids, to see that they are safe and sound. He has always been a loving and devoted father and he’s very good at taking care of his family.

Page 36: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Finally the day comes for Arthur and Andrea’s birthday. Now Hiery and simRoxy are finally done raising this generation and can ship the last of the kids off to college.

Page 37: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Arthur, on the left, is a knowledge sim with the LTW to max his skills.

Andrea is popularity and wants to be a Hall of Famer.

Page 38: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

The boys ship off to college to join their older brothers and sisters in the dorms. As far as I can tell, they’re still identical although now that they’re adults, I at least gave them the small shred of dignity of having different recolors of the same outfit for now.

Now that all ten kids are in college, let’s take a look at them and review their personalities. I’m sorry the writing in these chapters didn’t explore their characters more, but that will change as we winnow down the candidates. For now, here’s an overview of all ten kids.

Back in Blank Canvas, Avery has dropped out of college and moved in with his fiancée, Lucy, just in time for a private exchange of vows. To simplify things, I’m only running three of the Masterpiece kids in an heir poll, so that frees firstborn Avery up to join his waiting family.

Page 50: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Besides his new wife, Avery is joining his six kids that were had mostly to make simRoxy perma-platinum while she was still constantly pregnant and suffering.

While their three girls showed some variety, Avery and Lucy ended up with three identical sons. At least all the boys have elf ears.

The three girls are named Delilah, Missy, and Rachel. The boys are named Cameron, Henry, and Tyler.

And that concludes our tour of Avery’s family. Back to college!

Page 51: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

At Acadamie Le Tour, the chosen three have moved to an empty lot to start a Greek house known as Masterpiece Hall. While an extremely sparse and thrifty house is built behind them, the Masterpieces socialize with students and professors alike. Anjolie, already looking for romantic partners, is willing to acquiesce to a professor’s turn-ons for easier socializing.

Let’s meet our three potential heirs.

Page 52: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Andy and Anjolie were my favorite two kids of the generation. However, Hiery’s lifetime want is to graduate three kids from college. As the only knowledge sim of the generation, I figured Arthur would be the most likely to enjoy college. I wasn’t going to have him in the poll at first, but he grew on me, so these three are all eligible to be heir/ess.

Page 53: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Because the kids moved to a new lot right after entering college, there wasn’t much money for the construction of the house, which resulted in a very small house with a lot of shared space. This in turn resulted in awkwardness. Move along, Anjolie!

Page 54: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Anjolie tries to get a start on her LTW with the mascot. They’re usually easy, right? After a rejected flirt, she continued her pursuit only to be rewarded with a rejected makeout – always a nice event for a romance sim. With perseverance, they eventually fall in love and the mascot’s ready to do the deed. Only then do I notice that they have negative chemistry. No wonder!

Page 55: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Earlier in the day, while Anjolie was failing miserably to woo the mascot, Andy met and befriended one of his professors, Prof. Lora. Andy and Lora hit it off instantly and are soon best friends and crushing. Family sim Andy is over the moon to have a serious relationship.

Page 56: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Winter comes to the college neighborhood (why is it always winter around here?) and with it comes a deepening love between Andy and Prof. Lora. Fulfilling a major want of his, Andy quickly proposed – but it couldn’t have been too quickly since snow apparently had time to accumulate on the ring box. Hmm. Anyway, it is still the kids’ first semester and Andy has met and wooed his one and only, making him a very happy sim whenever Lora’s around.

Page 57: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Arthur and Andy never spent much time together except when Andy was helping out in the nursery, so living in the same house is a good opportunity to get to know each other, and the brothers are soon good friends who do lots of things together.

Also, Arthur maxes his first skill, that being logic.

Page 58: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Each of the three Masterpieces are following their paths in life and often quite happy, but all three constantly roll wants to make and consume food amongst their other LTW-related wants. Spaghetti, omelets, pancakes, and hamburgers all make frequent appearances in their wants panel.

Page 59: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

After a while it gets to be a bit ridiculous, considering all the other things they could be wanting at the time. It does provide for plenty of socializing, as students across campus find out that Masterpiece Hall is the place to get a square meal and maybe a bit of advice about NPC-woohoo.

Page 60: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

When they’re not cooking, Anjolie, Arthur, and Andy are often hard at work studying. Unlike most of my sims, all three did the majority of their own work throughout college.

Page 61: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

At least once a day, Arthur rolls the want to call his identical twin, Andrea. Their relationship stays as good as it can be thanks to these daily calls, and Arthur is all too happy to invite Andrea over for a little boys’ study night. I think it’s adorable that Arthur is still so close with his twin, so I make sure to indulge all of his brotherly wants.

Page 62: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Everyone in the house except Arthur is getting some loving (a lot in Anjolie’s case) and he could really use the easy aspiration points . . . er, I mean, companionship. Since he’s not as gregarious as his siblings, he resorts to the matchmaker, who drops this elderly professor down twice despite max payments. They don’t even have that great chemistry – just one bolt! Surely there’s someone better suited for Arthur? I decided it was time to seed the college neighborhood with some attractive CAS townies.

Page 63: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

With a new batch of age appropriate townies unleashed upon the college, it isn’t long before Arthur finds himself a special someone. All of his top chemistry on the phone directory were men, so I took the hint and hooked him up with the grey-eyed, red-headed Aaron here. They’re soon head over heels and Arthur gets his first kiss.

Page 64: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

The kids quickly opened, ran, and then sold a venue business, resulting in a hefty windfall. With the money, they expanded Masterpiece Hall and even added an upstairs playroom for the karaoke machine Anjolie got from a date and a few other neat things. With Masterpiece Hall finally worth showing off, they decide to increase their social options by officially opening up their Greek chapter.

Page 65: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Did you think Arthur might have grown out of this habit? Nope – he still loves to gossip about simRoxy’s abduction and he’s even got Anjolie doing it too. I don’t know why Andy looks so shocked in the bottom right panel – they’ve all heard the story approximately a billion times by now.

Page 66: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

All three of the kids live busy lives. Arthur works on his skilling and soon maxes his creativity. Andy also keeps himself busy in between spending time with Lora, since there isn’t much a Family sim can do for his aspiration in college. Anjolie goes through a rotating stable of suitors, though she hasn’t had above one bolt of chemistry with any of them. She must just be very picky, I guess.

Page 67: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

These three also make plenty of time to goof around, too. All Masterpiece children left the house with high creativity (this is an art legacy!) so they’re pleasant to listen to on the karaoke machine or on an instrument. Arthur takes a shine to the flower arranging bench so he gets to start working his way to snapdragons.

Page 68: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Anjolie finally meets someone she has a bit of chemistry with. Anjolie and Corwin still only have two bolts for each other, but I’ll take it. For a pleasant, outgoing, nice-looking sim, Anjolie has been unusually hard to pair off. She just hasn’t had much chemistry with any of her loves, though that didn’t stop her from woohooing them. By the time she met Corwin, she already was three-fourths of the way to her LTW.

Page 69: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

With all but their senior year accomplished, the kids are doing extremely well. All three have 4.0s, a nice array of skills, good progress on their LTW and have met their future mates. The only thing left is to pick which one will be the heir, and then it’s on to the next generation of Masterpieces. Turn the page for info on these three.

Page 70: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Andy Masterpiece

“Hiery Jr.”

4/1/5/8/7

Family – Golden Anniversary

Named for Andy Warhol

Andy looks the most like his father out of all ten kids and even rolled the same aspiration. Since he was little, he’s always been a big fan of the smustle. As an adult, he quickly found his match – in the first semester! – with Prof. Lora, who he has dated all through college.

Page 71: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Anjolie Masterpiece

“Picky Paramour”

6/9/5/8/7

Romance – Woohoo 20 Sims

Named for Anjolie Ela Menon

Anjolie is the most beautiful offspring of Hiery and simRoxy, in my opinion. As a romance sim, she’s been fairly successful and has already had 15 woohoo partners. It’s been an uphill battle the whole way, as her latest sweetie, Corwin, is the first sim she has had more than one bolt of chemistry with.

Page 72: Masterpiece chapter 1-3

Arthur Masterpiece

“The Gossip”

8/0/7/5/9

Knowledge – Max Seven Skills

Named for Arthur Hughes

One of identical twins, Arthur is still very close to his brother Andrea. His favorite pastimes are skilling, flower-arranging, and gossiping about simRoxy’s abduction. He’s currently seeing a cute redhead named Aaron.

Page 73: Masterpiece chapter 1-3
