I am about to reveal to you a powerful set of principles and techniques. This is a proven, rich and powerful approach to living that will bring you all that you desire in life and more. When you apply what you learn you will:

have the ability to create miracles in your life;

have the courageous mindset of a champion; and

will be able to enjoy intense and absorbing relationships with all the people in your life.

Step 1: Create your Life Blueprint So, what do you want your life to be about?

This is the most important question you could ever ask yourself. What is amazing is how few people actually bother. Most people have no idea what they really want to do with their life. Some people have a vague idea, and that’s better than nothing, but still not much. Your brain is an amazingly powerful computer. It will provide you with what you want – you just have to ask in the right way. Whatever the question, your brain is capable of providing the answer. But to do so, it needs precise instructions. And it is no good giving it precise instructions on what you don’t want. It would be no good telling a builder the kind of house you don’t want because he’d still have no idea what to build.

I currently live my desired lifestyle because I have a Life Blueprint. I know what I want my life to look like and be like. From my late teens I have always set goals and put plans in place to achieve my goals. I have learned through trial and error what works and what doesn’t. Creating your Life Blueprint will enable you to create what you want in your life in a step-by-step and systematic way.

The Six Pillars of a Life Blueprint

Pillar 1 – Your Mission The first component of your blueprint relates to your purpose in life. It’s the ‘why’ part of the code.

- Why are you here? What is your life all about? - We’re all different and therefore there is something unique we are all capable of

bringing to the world. What is unique about you? - Do you feel you have a calling? Is there something that you have felt drawn to do

with your life? - When your life is all over, what do you want people to be able to say about you?

Pillar 2 – Your Honour Code This relates to ‘how’ you want to live your life.

- What do you want to be? In other words, what kind of a person do you aspire to be? - If there was a dictionary definition about you, what would it say? What character

traits do you wish for? What behaviours and what personality would you like to have?

- What are your core values? These are things that you feel strongly about. They are the things in life that resonate with you at deep level. They’re fundamental beliefs which are well developed and that have moulded your character for years.

Pillar 3 – Your Tribe This is the ‘who’ part of the blueprint. It is your internal environment.

- Who do you want to spend your life with? - Who do you want in your inner circle and what kind of people do you want in your

outer circle? - Who is it you wish to impact and help as regards your mission in life?

Pillar 4 – External Environment This is the ‘where’ question.

- Where do you want to live and work? - Where do you want to travel to? - Where are the people who you wish to impact with your life?

Pillar 5 – Your Dream This is the ‘what’ part of the blueprint. It’s the goals you have for your life.

- Put simply, what do you want your life to be like? - What things do you want? - In pursuit of the impact you want to have in the world through your mission, what

do you want and need to achieve?

Pillar 6 – Your Milestones This part of the Life Blueprint is concerned with ‘when’. It’s the ‘when’ part of your dream.

- When do you want to achieve the various parts of your dream? A goal is not a goal without a deadline. For each goal within your dream, when do you want to achieve it by? Within a few months, a year, three years, five years or ten or more?

Set goals which are:

- authentic - specific and measurable - are challenging and exciting - in alignment with their values - well balanced

- realistic in terms of time frames

Step 2: Adopt a Powerful Mindset “My greatest challenge has been to change the mindset of people. Mindsets play strange tricks on us. We see things the way our minds have instructed our eyes to see.”- Muhammad Yunus A mindset is a fixed set of attitudes. To be truly successful you need to have the following set of personal qualities:

- decisiveness - belief - desire - focus - a positive mental attitude - character - self-control - an understanding that actions speak louder than words - always looking for the good - respectfulness - a sense of initiative - thinking in a ‘no limits’ way - conviction - innovative - knowing that there is no such thing as defeat - staying fixed on the target - knowing that change comes from the inside out - knowing the importance of fostering good relationships - not making excuses - operating with a sense of urgency - give it your all

Step 3: Believe in Synchronicity Miracles happen. They show up in your life when you pursue worthy goals – but you need to open your eyes to their existence. Don’t ever be persuaded that miracles and one¬chance-in-a-million events never happen...

In 1805 the French writer Emile Deschamps was introduced to the delights of plum pudding by a man who he’d never met before called Monsieur de Fontgibu. Ten years later, Emile Deschamps noticed plum pudding again on the menu of a Paris restaurant. He placed his order but was informed by the waiter that the last dish had

already been served to another customer. That other customer turned out to be the very same Monsieur de Fontgibu. Many years later in 1832 Emile Deschamps was dining out and was once again offered plum pudding. He recalled the earlier incident and told his friends that only Monsieur de Fontgibu was missing to make the setting complete. And in the same instant the now senile Monsieur de Fontgibu entered the room by mistake.

Has anything similar ever happened in your life? If you don’t believe in miracles, you’re not being practical.

Step 4: Work Well with Other People Koinonia is an ancient Greek term but no single English word is sufficient to articulate its intensity and richness. It is a derivative of the word ‘koinos’ which means common. In essence, it is a complex and absorbing Greek approach to building community or teamwork amongst people. The most important and the most highly paid form of intelligence in the world is social intelligence, which is the ability to get along well with other people. 85% of your success in life is going to be determined by your social skills, by your ability to interact positively and effectively with others and to get them to cooperate with you in helping you to achieve your goals. Learning how to develop and maintain superior human relationships can do more for your career and for your personal life than perhaps anything else you can accomplish. The bad news is that the inability to get along with others is the primary reason for failure, frustration and unhappiness in life and work. According to one study, more than 95 percent of men and women let go from their jobs over a ten year period were fired because of poor social skills rather than lack of competence or technical ability. Keys to getting on with other people include:

- doing whatever you can, whenever you can to boost and enhance the self-esteem of other people – in other words, make everyone feel good and valuable about themselves

- make other people feel important – you can do this with acceptance, approval, - expressing appreciation, gratitude and admiration and by not destructively criticizing - not being jealous and feeling self-pity - always expecting the best from other people - not criticizing, condemning or complaining

- giving honest and sincere appreciation - becoming genuinely interested in other people - being a good listener - encouraging others to talk about themselves - avoiding arguments - showing respect for the opinions of other people - not telling other people they are wrong – instead, telling them that you value their

contribution even if you disagree with what they say - if you’re wrong, admitting it quickly and emphatically - beginning a conversation in a friendly way - letting other people do the talking - trying honestly to see things from the point of view of other people - showing sympathy

Step 5: Aim for Optimal Performance Research suggests that the average person thinks approximately 65,000 thoughts a day. The problem is, though, that 95% of those thoughts are the same one day as they were the previous day. We are creatures of habit in the way that we think and the thoughts that we have. Thoughts become things so what those statistics suggest is that, unless you change your thoughts, you’ve got a 95% chance of getting similar results today as in the past. If you are to achieve optimal performance, the challenge you face is to change the way you think. You need to programme yourself for success and take action in a certain way. This means, for example:

- picturing yourself in your head achieving at your desired level - feeling and acting ‘as if’ you have already achieved what you want - improving your voice chatter so that it is positive - improving the way that you solve problems - using leverage to improve the way you take action - continually studying and practicing your craft

In so doing, you will optimize your performance and the results you achieve.

Step 6: Take Time Out “Meditation brings wisdom; lack of mediation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.” - Buddha

In these modern times, we spend too much time thinking. Or, to be more precise, we spend too much time engaged in a particular type of thinking, which I call chattering thinking, and not enough time engaged in the other types of quiet thinking.

The bottom line is that we don’t take enough time out. Our brains are not designed to be in a constant state of stimulation, but with the hectic lifestyles most people lead these days, they are. It’s no wonder that stress and anxiety are so prevalent. Most people wouldn’t think it wise to run around constantly dashing from one place to the next. It would be physically tiring and self-defeating. Yet most people think nothing of running their brain ragged, and wonder why they feel so mentally drained for so much of the time. Tips for taking time out:

- meditate - keep a journal - spend time in Nature - no ‘screen’ days - express gratitude

Step 7: Live with a Champion Spirit “A champion is someone who gets up when he can't.” - Jack Dempsey Seek to be a champion in every sense of the word. There are many qualities that represent the hallmark of a true winner, and knowing what it takes to be a true winner is chief amongst those virtues. True champions:

- understand what winning is really all about - go the extra mile - do not worry or fear - know that to win you must give before you get - never envy the success of others - are not afraid of struggle and strife - continually strive for improvement - are persistent - celebrate their successes
