The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Colorado Christian University combines compelling coursework, professional practice, and mentoring relationships designed to equip you to be a professional counselor who is responsive to all cultures. The curriculum is taught within a Christian framework, giving you the unique opportunity to integrate Christ-like faith and sound clinical counseling principles within ethical practice. Offered both online and on-site, this 60-credit hour (CACREP Accredited) counseling program gives you the flexibility to earn your master’s degree where it’s most convenient for you. In addition to your core curriculum, you are offered a variety of electives that include Neuroscience and Clinical Counseling, Substance Abuse Disorders, and Child and Adolescent Diagnosis and Treatment. Upon completion of CCU’s M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, you will be prepared to take the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). ONLINE AND ON-SITE This program is offered both online and on-site. The online M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling allows you to participate in real-time videoconferencing with fellow classmates and your professor. On-site classes are held in the late afternoon and evenings and are taught in a hybrid format, with in-person and online assignments.

CACREP ACCREDITEDCCU’s M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is nationally accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Programs accredited by CACREP are reviewed against professionally approved standards, resulting in a streamlined licensure application process. According to the council, research shows CACREP graduates perform better on the National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification (NCE).
