Hunan Agriculture University. I got to know WHU for the first time at an

information session. Here, I had the opportunity to get first-hand informa-

tion about the program from current students and also had the chance

to talk to a professor in person. I decided to choose the Master in Manage-

ment Program at WHU due to the numerous opportunities it offers to me:

An excellent education at one of the leading European business schools,

extensive international experience, and access to an impressive network of

passionate students. Today, I can honestly say, I will never ever regret being

Marketing & SalesMarketing contains the word “market”. Markets are not

abstract curves in a diagram – they are made by people.

The entire economy is based on simple acts of one

person buying and another person selling. Marketing &Sales is a fascinating discipline that combines business

    administration, psychology, and economics.

The essence of business is to connect with customers,

to create value for customers, and to claim value from

customers. While several functions of the firm createvalue for customers, Marketing & Sales are the key func-

tions that connect with customers and claim value from

the customers. This makes Marketing & Sales knowledge

the key to any business success and any business career.

The WHU Marketing & Sales faculty is committed to our

students’ fitness for business, not only for administration.

Compared with other curricula, ours offers three keybenefits: 1) relevant, up-to-date content and caseexamples; 2) experiential, active learning methods; 3) achoice of courses for pricing and sales; two key market-

ing instruments that are often neglected in other Masterof Science programs. Through our high conceptual andmethodological standards, studying Marketing & Salesat the WHU is also an excellent preparation for a laterPh.D. The following modules are offered:

Modules:  Relationship and Services Marketing  Pricing: Negotiation, Calculation & Strategy  The Product Manager’s Interfaces & Tools  Professional Selling & Key Account Management  Building a High-Performance Sales Force  Leveraging Online & Offline Sales Channels

StrategyLeaders need to guide their companies, especially inturbulent times as nowadays. To decide where to takea company is not easy. Neither is organizing it so thatyou can put the strategy in place. To make a responsibledecision one needs to be able to analyze where thecompany is actually located in relation to its customersand competitors, what its strengths and weaknesses are,and how to build a sustainable competitive advantagefrom there. Furthermore, leaders guiding these crucial

decisions need to be able to understand the complexenvironment they are navigating, the changing institu-tional environment, as well as changing resource con-straints and public opinion in various countries. Theconcentration Strategy provides profound insight intostrategic management of companies, corporations andhidden champions alike.

Modules:  Corporate Strategies in Multinational Enterprises  Global Business Strategies and Emerging Markets  Strategy Processes and Top Management Teams  Strategy Implementation

Institutions and the Global Changing Landscape

Supply Chain ManagementOperational decisions impact the firm’s responsivenessto customers, overall risk exposure and long-termcompetitiveness. Today, competitive advantage isfrequently created in the supply chain rather than bythe individual firm. Thus, a perspective which encom-passes raw material suppliers through end customersis of primary importance. Sustainability concernsmandate a cradle-to-cradle approach to supply, opera-tions, and distribution management, enabling recycling

and remanufacturing and hence greener products.

You will study advanced concepts for managementquality, global procurement, supply chain coordination, and collaboration. Logistics strategies to respond toincreasing levels of volatility and complexity are pre-sented. You will be furthermore exposed to quantitativetools for supply risk management and decision-makingunder uncertainty.

This concentration will enable you to develop expertisein collaborative value creation and management forsustainability.

     Your Financing Opportunities

     Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the Master in Management Programare currently € 19,200 (90 credit track) or € 23,600(120 credit track). These fees include the study costsfor the capstone module abroad in the 90 credit track

or the study abroad in the 120 credit track. For a dou-ble degree, an additional fee is charged depending onthe tuition fees of the respective partner university.

Some of our Financing Opportunities are:

Reduced Tuition FeesStudents with income and assets up to € 7,670 abovethe BAföG limit per year are eligible for reduced tuition.

The amount of the reduction per student is determined by

the number of eligible students who ask for a reduction.

WHU Brain Capital GmbHIn 2006, a new, innovative tuition financing conceptwas introduced at WHU. Students participating inthese models do not pay any tuition fees during theirstudies at WHU. However, they commit themselves tomake income-dependent payments upon completionof their studies. The total amount of payments is linkedto the income earned. This payment constitutes 3.5 to4.9 % of the gross income for a period of ten years. If in any year income falls below a level of € 30,000,the obligation to pay is ceased for that year (e.g. whensetting up a company, pursuing further studies, orduring a parental leave). 25 % of the WHU student body

finance their tuition fees this way.

Loan Program of Sparkasse KoblenzWHU has arranged a low-interest loan program withSparkasse Koblenz which is available for German-speaking WHU students without special collateralrequirements. The student agreement is adequate assecurity for the bank.

The In Praxi – Diversity ScholarshipIn Praxi, the WHU Alumni Association has launched theIn Praxi – Diversity Scholarship. Its purpose is to helpinternational applicants with both financial aid and non-material support. The scholarships are granted underseveral criteria, such as financial need, social and volun-tary involvement, and practical experience.

DeutschlandstipendiumWithin the framework of the German national scholar-

    ship program “Deutschlandstipendium”, WHU grants

every fall semester annual scholarships to particularly

talented and high-achieving students who have also dis-tinguished themselves through outstanding commitment

to community and society. The scholarships are funded

by matching donations from the Federal Ministry of

Education & Research (BMBF) and from private donors

such as companies, foundations, and single individuals.

The scholarships amount to € 300 per month each and

are initially granted for a period of twelve months with

the possibility of extension up to the end of the standard

    period of study.

Other Scholarships As a result of the selection process, WHU students

have a good chance of acceptance in a scholarshipprogram. Nearly 20 % of WHU students are funded bya grant or endowment (BSc and MSc Program). Youwill find an overview of scholarships and funding oppor-tunities here: www.whu.edu/mim/financial-aid/
