The Gospel this Sunday emphasizes that nothing is impossible with God. Following the Lord can be hard and challenging. We need to give up our inordinate attachments to material possessions and even to people. Peter was becoming exasperated when he said: Lord, we have given up everything and followed you. The Lord in turn would
promise him and his disciples more that than they can imagine - mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters. We become one family with the Lord. In fact, in a way, we have celebrat-ed our life as a community and one family of God last week-end during the celebration of our Parish Festival. The Lord has made it possible for us to come together. No doubt it has become possible, also because of the selflessness and hard work of our brothers and sisters who shared their time, talent and treasures. Hence, once again, I wish to thank everyone who worked so hard for the celebration of our festi-val. We thank the executive committee headed by Deacon Mike Lujan, and of course, to our amazing brother, Conrad Bonneau. I would not be able to name all of you. I have seen how much you’ve all sacrificed tremendously your time and energy in setting up everything for fiesta. We thank the different groups who sold food and drinks in the different booths, and the people who entertained through music and dances. The youth was certainly outstanding as they took care of the game booths. The pony ride provided excitement to the kids. We are greatly thankful to all the donors sponsors for the tickets, and those who donated a lot of items for the silent and live auction, and for the basket of cheers. It was a joyful and wonderful weekend, indeed. Let us continue thanking God who made all these possible for us. May everything that we do, Be for His greater glory. May the Lord who cannot be outdone in generosity bless all of you for your kindness, selflessness and generosity.

DID YOU KNOW? The Importance of Emotional Boundaries We discuss the importance of physical boundaries quite a bit,
teaching children to understand privacy and the difference between
good touches and bad touches. But emotional boundaries are just
as important, if not more so, because abuse victims are often ma-
nipulated into trusting and believing their abusers. Predators can
violate emotional boundaries fairly easily, worming their way into
a child’s life and creating a false relationship. Parents should talk
to their children about appropriate boundaries for their emotional
relationships — with teachers, the parents of their friends, and
other adults in their lives. Children do not always have the emo-
tional maturity to set their own boundaries, so parents should be on
the lookout for anything that seems inappropriate or “off” about
the relationships their children form with other adults. To learn

El evangelio de este domingo enfatiza que nada es imposible para Dios. Seguir al Señor puede ser difícil y desafiante. Tenemos que renunciar a nuestros apegos excesivos a las posesiones materiales e incluso a las personas. Pedro se estaba exasperando cuando dijo: Señor, hemos renunciado a todo y te hemos seguido. El Señor, a su vez, le
prometía a él y a sus discípulos más de lo que pueden imaginar: madres, padres, hermanos y hermanas. Nos convertimos en una sola familia con el Señor. De hecho, de alguna manera, hemos celebrado nuestra vida como comuni-dad y una familia de Dios el fin de semana pasado durante la celebración de nuestro Festival Parroquial. El Señor ha hecho posible que nos unamos. Sin duda, se ha hecho posible, también por el desinterés y el trabajo arduo de nues-tros hermanos y hermanas que compartieron su tiempo, talento y tesoros. Por lo tanto, una vez más, deseo agradecer a todos los que trabajaron tan duro para la cele-bración de nuestro festival. Agradecemos al comité ejecutivo encabezado por el diácono Mike Lujan y, por supuesto, a nuestro increíble hermano, Conrad Bonneau. No podría nombrarlos a todos. He visto cuánto han sacrificado tremen-damente su tiempo y energía para preparar todo para la fiesta. ¿SABÍA USTED? La importancia de los límites emocionales
Discutimos la importancia de los límites físicos un poco, ense-
ñando a los niños a comprender la privacidad y la diferencia
entre las buenas formas de ser tocados y las malas maneras de
ser tocados. Pero los límites emocionales son igual de impor-
tantes, si no más, porque las víctimas de abuso a menudo son
manipuladas para confiar y creer en sus abusadores. Los depre-
dadores pueden violar los límites emocionales con bastante
facilidad, abriéndose camino en la vida de un niño y creando
una relación falsa. Los padres de familia deben hablar con sus
hijos sobre los límites apropiados con sus relaciones emociona-
les, con los maestros, los padres de sus amigos y otros adultos
en sus vidas. Los niños no siempre tienen la madurez emocio-
nal para establecer sus propios límites, por lo que los padres de
familia deben estar atentos a cualquier cosa que parezca inapro-
piada o “desagradable” sobre las relaciones que sus hijos for-
