Men’s Study and Adoration Every First Thursday of the month from 9:00pm to 10:00pm. One hour divided in 30 minutes of study and 30 minutes in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Suggestions for the Fridays of Prayer and Penance from Bishop Zurek

1.– Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for one hour each week for the Healing and Reconciliation of Victims. 2.– Praying the Holy Rosary by each Family in the Diocese each week. 3.– Fasting on the designated Fridays each week so that abuse in all its forms would come to an end. 4.– Abstinence from meat on the designated Fridays. 5.– Alms to be given to benefit the poor and needy 6.– Each parishioner in the Diocese is encouraged to participate in these Spiritual and Corporal Words of Mercy, not under the pain of sin, but rather in solidarity with those who are suffering from any form of abuse. It is my hope that this will benefit our spiritual growth in holiness and to better reflect the Light who is Christ and who resides in each of us through our Baptism. May we bring this Light to others and help to diminish the darkness that sin and evil produce. May the victims of all forms of abuse find healing and know once again the love that Christ has for each human being.

Here at St. John’s, all are invited to join in silent prayer for all victims of sexual abuse before the Blessed Sacrament each Friday from Noon to 12:30 in the Oratory which is located at the back of the Parish Office Building.

1.– Adoración del Santísimo Sacramento por una hora de cada semana para la Sanación y Reconciliación de las Victimas. 2.– Rezar el Santo Rosario en cada familia de la Diócesis cada semana. 3.– Ayunar los Viernes designados cada semana para que el abuso en todas sus formas llegue a su fin. 4.– Abstinencia de carne los Viernes designados. 5.– Dar limosnas para beneficiar a los pobres y necesitados. 6.– Se anima a cada feligrés en la Diócesis a participar en obras espirituales y corporales de misericordia, no bajo la pena de pecado, sino en solidaridad con los que sufren de alguna forma el abuso. Espero que esto beneficie nuestro crecimiento espiritual en santidad y refleje mejor la Luz que es Cristo y quien habita en cada uno de nosotros a través de nuestro Bautismo. Que podamos llevar esta Luz a otros y ayudar a disminuir la oscuridad que producen el pecado y el mal. Que las victimas de todas las formas de abuso encuentren la sanación y sepan una vez mas el amor que Cristo tiene por cada ser humano.

Todos estan invitados a unirse a orar en silencio por todas las victimas de abuso sexual ante el Santísimo Sacramento cada Viernes de las 12 a las 12:30pm en el Oratorio que se localiza en parte de atrás de la Oficina Parroquial.
