Jesus fed 5,000 people with two fish and five loaves. Parish Social Ministry needs your help in

filling our empty shelves. The many served at Parish Outreach, part of Christ’s own body, are hungry. Only through you can we feed those that are hungry and give drink to those that thirst. If each person would bring one can of food each week (canned vegetables, canned meat, canned fruits, tuna fish, cereal, juices, flip-top cans for our homeless, etc.) our pantry would always have enough to serve, never turning away an individual or a family.

Please pray for those who have asked for our prayers

SUNDAY CONTRIBUTION

2007 - $9,845 2008 - $9,554

••••••Brothers and Sisters in Christ••••• Singing of the last hymn at Mass while the procession is taking place concludes the Mass and is part of the Mass. We ask that you remain in your places at the end of Mass and wait for the procession with the Priest, Deacon, and Ministers to pass before you leave the church. Leaving the church while the last hymn is being sung or beginning a conversation with others is not only discourteous but makes a mockery of the end of the Mass. Please join in the singing and wait until all the ministers have process down the center aisle before leaving. We also remind you that parents should make sure that their children do not sing, whistle, or shout before, during, or at the end of Mass. Many people are complaining that there is too much noise in the church before and after Mass. Please respect the sanctity of this sacred place.

Today, we celebrate “Good Shepherd Sunday” where we reflect on Jesus’ care and love of us and hear his words, “I came so that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” This month through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul brought the love and care

of Jesus to the poor by assisting families with food, money for utility bill and rent, etc. Thank You!

Meet St. Stanislaus

Born in Poland, Stanislaus became a priest and a canon of the Cathedral in Krakow. He was an eloquent preacher, a generous benefactor of the poor and an advocate for clerical reform. Appointed

Bishop of Krakow (1072), he soon was embroiled in conflict with King Boleslav, who eventually ended Stanislaus’ life during the celebration of Mass. The king fled Hungary, where he lived as a penitent in a Benedictine abbey. Stanislaus was canonized (1235) and is one of the patrons of Poland. Like him, may we be willing to speak the truth to those in power even if we might suffer for it.

A vacuum sales man appeared at the door of a lady's cottage and, without allowing the woman to speak, rushed into the living room and threw a large bag of dirt all over her clean carpet. He said," If this new vacuum doesn't pick up every bit of dirt then I'll eat all the dirt." The woman, who by this time was losing her patience, said, "Sir, if I had enough money to buy that thing, I would have paid my electricity bill before they cut it off. Now, what would you prefer, a spoon or a knife and fork?"

De The Great Fifty Days—Savoring the Resurrection por el Monseñor Francis X. Gaeta, páginas 45 y 45.
