Project Director:The person with genuine executive authority over the project. The Project Director has full accountability and responsibility for the project's success, and has the power to make all decisions, subject to oversight by the executive bodies.

Project Manager:The person with day-to-day responsibility for the conduct and success of the project. The Project Manager would normally have control over all project resources.

Developer/ Programmer:A specialist in the creation of solution components. Again, there will be different types of developer depending upon what is being developed.

Solution designer:A specialist in the detailed design of solution components. There will, in fact, be many different types of specialist in this category as each needs to be a specialist in the aspect of the solution they design, eg database designer, website designer, program designer, package configuration designer, network designer, procedure designer etc

Computer operations analyst:A specialist in the way the live technical solution should be operated. Operating procedures would include routine operations, controls, security, backup/recovery, disaster plans, etc

Roles for the project

Quote from readings

• “The fundamental metaphor at work when users describe TUI behavior in relational terms is to see emotional closeness as physical closeness. In a way, the metaphor works both ways in that physical closeness also creates emotional closeness. We are dealing with a "relational" universe with a topology different from the physical universe.”

- Metaphor for tangile user interface

Concept

Design : Mask interactionInteractions1 )Users can design their own mask

- input their images that they want to portray and display

2) One user put on mask + a black cloak and meet another user- symbolize anonymity with the mask

- a cloak is used to emphasize this point

3)Voices will be distorted according to the distance between their face and the mask - “truth” is symbolized through distorted voice

“Portray anonymity”

Background Research

Conceptual + contextual• Internet – msn, forum, chatroom• Blind date – lavalife• The Love jacket. The KineticDress. (lecture material)

• concept terms: interconnected experience, expressive, and moving closer.

Our key idea is to experience the way that people communicate with others.

Prototype

Software, hardware– PCB (circuit board) wrap with plastic bag

– 30 LED lights– Infrared sensor (in the middle)– on/off switch for sensor– Resistor– Solder– Microphone– Cell phone battery– RF Transmitter or Bluetooth – Arduino board

Conceptual PrototypeThe Interaction“A casual meeting of two users”

Environment : a set up room setting with equipment ready. - lighting: will be dim to emphasize on the hidden identity (light varies according to the natural lighiting of the day- sound: relaxing music to help users relax and enjoy the experience

Equipment: - Mask: plastic attached to a plastic stick (light to hold, warm to touch) It can be easily decorated with pen. - Software and Hardware : they are well prepared and speaker are located at relatively close location so they can hear clearly)

-cpu not facing the users so they will not be distracted

Extra equipment : chairs (comfortable, help users engange into the environment)

Methodology

Where: a team roomWhen: After we finish our prototype which is

week? On our scheduled timeline.Who : Students at SFU (it is also important that

they do not see each other before hand)How:we will give users a scenerio so they do not

feel award starting a conversation by themselves.

Scenerio: The two users are talking about ...
