Who are we?

An introduction to DAWA

Background

DAWA is a not-for-profit incorporated association, based in Cannington, and incorporated in 2001.

DAWA is dedicated to providing accurate information about Islam, and providing community

services to the local Muslim community.

What has DAWA achieved?

DAWA has been striving to attract the wider community to learn more about Islam from the

authentic Islamic sources.

We have organised Islam Open Days, held both at the DAWA Centre in Cannington and in masaajid

(mosques) around Perth. These have had an excellent response from the community, and has

encouraged people to learn more about Islam and even to become Muslim.

We have also provided education for local Muslims so they can learn more about our beautiful deen.

Masjid As-Sunnah

Masjid As-Sunnah has been running at DAWA’s premises for the last 2 years. Alhamdolillah, we have

many people attending salaah at Masjid As-Sunnah, especially for Jumu’ah salaah.

However, the premises are now becoming too small for the large numbers of people who enjoy

praying at Masjid As-Sunnah. This is causing us problems with the council, and it is difficult to fit

everybody in the Masjid. We are now looking for a bigger and better place to build a Masjid that will

cater to our community.

What do we need from you?

This document sets out our plans to relocate Masjid As-Sunnah so that we can provide more space

for the people to pray and have activities.
