WELCOMEFor the first time Mascauti is cited in documents in 1436, but there were made archaeological diggings by Smirnov G.D., Fiodorov G.B., Postica, and they discovered, in the same place, an old village called Poiana Ciucului from IV-III century before Christ.

IN 13 century, when tartars and turkeys overrun in the country, there was a stout man who saved this village through a trick U Macu. He ride very fast a horse on the top of the hill Chihlau and jump on air and died, and so did the enemies. Thats way the village is called Mascauti.

In Mascauti there are 2 schools: a gymnasium and the secondary school Ion Sirbu
