(mainly English) at all faculties

o Doctoral: all fields as long as the student finds a supervisor!!
The structure of higher education system
The structure of Higher Education in the Czech Republic is
according to the Bologna process.
3 cycles as follows
1st cycle (bachelor) - 180-240 ECTS
2nd cycle (master’s) - 180-240 ECTS
3rd cycle (doctoral) – not specified in credits but in general
from 3 to 4 years
The credit recognition system
Masaryk University uses the ECTS system
ECTS - European Credit Transfer System
60 ECTS/academic year
Example:
2 ECTS ~ 1 hour credit in US system

A-B-C-D-E-F (Excellent-Very Good, Satisfactory, Sufficient, Failed)

Language assessment requirements
Depends on the faculty/department!
Language of teaching is either Czech or English
Exchange international students usually study in English
unless their field is not offered in English!
Full-degree students study in English only in the fields
offered in English
Usually students applying for full-degree must have a TOEFL
or IELTS
