MARYLAND AMBULATORY SURGERY PROVIDER DIRECTORY

2002 The Maryland Health Care Commission presents the fifth edition of the Maryland Ambulatory Surgery Provider Directory. The 2002 edition of this Directory contains data for the 2001 calendar year. This consolidated source of information of each individual freestanding and hospital-based ambulatory surgical facility in Maryland is used by the Commission, health care providers, policy makers, health insurers, the public and many other organizations.

For the first time, the Directory includes a Guide to State Regulations Affecting Freestanding Ambulatory Surgery Providers in Maryland. The guide, found as an insert in the Directory, provides a brief summary of regulations and requirements for establishing and operating a freestanding ambulatory surgery facility in Maryland. Contact names and phone numbers are provided for your convenience. This guide will serve as a continuing resource for ambulatory surgery providers. The Directory also includes a list of providers by jurisdiction, information on specialties, and a list of freestanding facilities with hospital or health system affiliations. Also included is a list of facilities that closed during the 2001 survey year and the number of projected facility openings by jurisdiction for 2002.

The Commission has taken every measure to provide the most current and accurate information. However, because of the variable nature of the provider field, some names, addresses and specialties may have changed before publication.
