BOB VAN VALKENBURG

Bob Van Valkenburg or'oVan" as he prefers to be called, and his wife Elaine havebeen residents of Lincoln for 42 of the 54 years they have been married. Their fourchildren - three daughters and one son - grew up and were educated in Nebraska'sGapitol City. Van is a grandpa to five children ranging in ages from 27 to 13 yearsof age. Both the immediate and extended families have been active in churchorganizations, community affairs and volunteer services, sharing common interestsin music, sports and outdoor activit ies.

Van, a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, holds a Bachelor of Arts (8.A.) Degree fromOklahoma State University and a Master of Business Adrninistration (M.B.A.) Degreefrom the University of Nebraska - Lincoln which was earned through the Executiveprogram.

He is serving or has served as either an officer or member of the board of directorsof numerous organization, associations and corporations at both local and nationallevels. All of Van's clients were able to repayevery dollar owed to their lenders, a fact of which he and they were very proud.

He is a Veteran who served in U.S. Army active duty and reserye positions for a totalof slightly more than 31 years. Van began as a Private and retired as a LieutenantGolonel after serving in a variety of unit and staff positions. As a result of becomingand serving as a Senior Army Aviator qualif ied in helicopters as well as in single andmulti-engine aircraft with an instrument qualif ication he was able to obtain and holdsa Gommercial Pilot's l icense and is qualif ied in all of those categories.
