The President’s Message For some people volunteering is about giving. But for the likes of you, it is a way of living! (Anonymous)

November being the month of Thanksgiving, it’s appropriate to remember all those matters which bring gratitude. I am thankful to be living in America, to have a Constitution worth fighting for, glad to see so many conservatives waking up and recognizing they are Republicans. Appreciative that we can vote and have ways to protect our votes.

Happy that righteous and integrous members are running for Office. Grateful for the following members who have put their time, money and dedication to represent us: Buzz Patterson, Christine Bish, Cathy Cook, Sue Frost, Riah Skrinnik and Suzanne Jones.

Thanking everyone who volunteered especially member Chair of the SAC COUNTY GOP Office, Betsy Mahan who organized Federated volunteers, Barbara Sloan, Janet Gardner, Nina Caron, Heather and Megan Masten, Sylvia Marchi-Glynn, Mary Jo Marjama, Carol Fogle, Karen Klinger, Marylou Colombo, Carl Burton, along with the many others.

We had a tremendous amount of new Members join to quickly become involved by calling, walking your neighborhoods, helping candidates to be elected. Many have given money and many have been praying for God to intercede to make America Great Again for our Children and grandchildren.

November 3 will be a reset time for America. This election has clearly displayed the true Republicans from the Rinos. As we have been fighting for our freedoms and liberty, we recognize that standing with our conservative values has been challenged. Daily we recognize our need for relying on our Biblical foundations in order to overcome the assaults of fake news longing to persuade us that our freedoms and liberties are not worth having and instead we should be ruled by a government that knows better than we the people.

Since California is a Vote by Mail state, the Sacramento County GOP Office has set up a Poll Observer Training. Along with others, I will be signing up representing the GOP at Vote Centers around Sacramento County starting Saturday, October 24th - Nov. 3rd. We are fortunate to have Federated member and Chair of the GOP Office Betsy Mahan who is a stellar representative for all the Republican Party. Consider contacting the SAC COUNTY GOP Office to volunteer or give donations.

We are finishing our year, highlighting several Community Involvement Projects. In November it will be the Blue Star Moms, information is included later in this Newsletter. December we will bring presents for Children of Veterans. Attend our November luncheon come prepared to give and or give online. May we continue to love liberty better than wealth, continue to want truth over compromises, and continue to want to keep our Nation led by integrous, righteous leaders to live in peace and freedom.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

“Stand strong, keep safe and see God move for us!” Ana Golden-Mendez/SRWF President

AMERICANISM - Susan McCrea (916) 606-4265 Outbreaks of disease and civil unrest were no strangers to the earliest settlers and citi-zens of the United States of America. In the early 1700’s smallpox broke out in Boston, a yellow fever epidemic plagued Philadelphia in the late 1700’s, and cholera came in three waves to New York City between 1832 and 1866, killing 5-10% of the people in each city mentioned. Civil unrest, even in the streets, was a trademark of the American Revolution. The grand finale of civilian strife occurred as our nation plummeted into the Civil War in 1861, with fighting raging in many of our cities, forests, and farmlands.

The last major pandemic affecting the USA occurred in 1918, more than a hundred years ago. Even though there have been sporadic outbreaks of disease and national strife, it has been over one hundred and fifty years since the American Civil War. Before 2020, none of us have experienced the horrific challenges of deadly pestilence and widespread violence in our streets at the levels reached in the past six months. Perhaps we have taken our stability for granted, reading only about pandemics and civil tur-moil in our history books, believing both to be things of the far distant past. How have our political and religious leaders dealt with national troubles like ours? Since our colonial be-ginnings, there have been numerous calls for days of prayer, repentance, and fasting in times of threat from enemies within and without. On March 23, 1798, troubled by “a foreign power…jeopardizing the na-tion’s security,’ our second president, John Adams, proclaimed May 23 “a day of solemn humiliation, fast-ing, and prayer… to acknowledge before God the manifold sins and transgressions…as individuals and as a nation.” Faced with a deadly cholera outbreak, President Zachary Taylor on August 3, 1849, called for a day of prayer and humbling before God. President Lincoln even went so far to say in his announcement for a day of prayer and repentance on April 30, 1863, “that the awful calamity of civil war…may be a pun-ishment inflicted on us for presumptuous sins” like “forgetting God” and “vainly imagining…some superior wisdom of our own,” rather than being thankful to God for His manifold blessings. When President Trump announced that the present pandemic was a national emergency, he declared an-other National Day of Prayer, March 15, to combat the Corona-19 virus. He cited the importance of our nation turning to God in prayer. Recently a group of religious leaders proclaimed a national/global day of prayer and fasting, “The Return”, for September 26, 2020, coinciding with Yom Kippur, the traditional Jew-ish Day of Repentance. Citizens from all over the USA descended upon Washington, DC, repenting indi-vidual and national sins and imploring God’s mercy for our country’s problems. As we move closer to Elec-tion Day and encourage people to vote for our President and other Republicans, let us also pray and re-pent and invoke God for His mercy on our great nation that is again in great peril. “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Thank you for the beautiful day that has brought us together energized and prepared to work for the victory in the coming election. We are grateful for the freedom we enjoy, guaranteed by our Constitution to study issues and speak out when our rights are in jeopardy. The crucial November elections are fast approaching with America standing at the crossroads. In one direction lies a weak and socialist welfare state. In the other direction lies a free, robust, and prosperous America held up by the pillars of free-

dom, the Law of the Land and our Constitution. We will only prevail if we unite and stay true to our core values which ensures liberty, prosperity and security. We ask you to empower us, guide us and bless us in our endeavors. We must unite and bring pressure to bear on elected representatives to stop the expanding power of big government. In Your Name, Amen (a past prayer from Glenda that is Glenda Thompson, Chaplain (916) 481-5593 still pertinent)

At our November Luncheon Meeting we will be collecting items to donate to the Blue Star Moms of Rocklin. They accept money donations all year to pay for stamps, etc. for the troops. Items needed-see below. Donations to this organization are tax deductible! Thank you in advance. You have always been so generous! .

In December we will be collecting for “Toys For Troops Kids.” These donations are given to children of our deployed Military. They are always happy to see us when we drive up with 2 SUVs packed to the brim with toys! Of course they are just as happy with gift cards and cash.
