It is an initiation into a faith family the community in this case into the Parish Family of Our Lady Queen of Peace. It is a time of learning about our faith and discerning how God is inviting them to become an active part of our family of faith. I want to thank the team members who have been studying with our candidate this year: Pat Callahan, Patricia Daly, Amanda Anderson, and Dot Novak. Besides talking about what makes us Catholic and the Christian Way of Life, lots of time is spent on how we are called to live and share our faith. The commandments and the beatitudes are discussed and most important is an intense look at the Sacraments, especially the Easter Sacraments, the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. This year our candidate is preparing to be confirmed. Let me introduce our candidate Kristin Tedesco. She shares her story. My RCIA journey began when I was asked to be godmother to my cousin's son Michael McAllister. Thanks to the group I have been meeting with weekly, I have been given the inspiration to develop a better understanding of my faith and to become a more engaged Catholic. I am grateful to have gone through the RCIA process at this stage of my life because I believe it has given me the opportunity to refresh my understanding of our Catholic values, and given me the tools that I will need to be a guide for my godson as he begins his journey. This Sunday at the 10:30 Mass we will celebrate the Rite of the Call to Continuing Conversion with Kristin and gift her with a Bible. Let us join in prayer for her during this Lenten Season as she makes her final preparation to receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation at the Easter Vigil. Ever grateful for your support and prayer, Mary Beth

WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process through which adults who have not completed the Easter Sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) prepare their minds and hearts to be open to the Spirit that comes to them anew with great power in these Sacraments. It is an initiation into a faith family – the community – in this case into the Parish Family of Our Lady Queen of Peace. Great Financial Response We did it! I received good news from the Diocesan Development Office that we had reached our goal in the Bishops Annual Appeal. Our goal of $23,100 was surpassed as we have received pledges of $24,616. We actually did very well with our in-pew campaign raising $4,000 more than last year. As we ask you to fulfill your pledge, I wish to thank you on behalf of all the charities, and those in need who will benefit from your kindness.

Knights St. Pat's Breakfast Sunday March 19 from 8:30 - 12 we will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day in a breakfast way. Come enjoy a sumptuous meal of pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, French Toast, hash browns and toast; or pick from our Continental table. Meals from $3 - $7 for adults, $5 for children 12 & under and children under 6 eat free. Bring your kids, friends, mom and dad, or your neighbor and have a fine time!

St. Patrick’s Day Dispensation On Wednesday, February 22, 2017, Bishop Serratelli issued the following dispensation: “I hereby grant a dispensation from the laws of fast and abstinence to all Roman Catholics living in or visiting this diocese on Friday, March 17, 2017. This dispensation is given with the strong recommendation that the faithful honor both Saint Patrick and this holy season of Lent by some special work of charity or exercise of piety in place of abstinence.”

ENSURING OUR FUTURE With Your Help

Our Increased Offertory Program Commitment Sunday is this weekend at all Masses. We encourage all parishioners to complete and turn in your commitment cards to the church. The Commitment Card contains information on how to plan your increased offertory gift to the church, and asks for your commitment over the next year. If you have any questions regarding this program, or how to give electronically, please contact the parish office. Thank you for celebrating with us this weekend. Your commitment to our parish through our “Ensuring our Future" Program will continue to bring life to our community. If you were unable to complete your commitment card, you will be mailed an invitation to respond with your gifts this week. And if you have not yet done so, consider joining with many others and give your gift online. Feel free to call the parish office with any questions.
