guide to north shore schools
Located just 14 miles north of downtown Chicago,
Wilmette is one of the original and largest of the North
Shore communities. It has been ranked by Business
Week as one of the best places in the U.S. to raise
children and offers many cultural and recreational
options.
Wilmette also offers public, private and religious
school options. Similar to the other feeder schools to
New Trier High School, it has five elementary schools
including Avoca, Central, Harper, McKenzie and
Romona. At the conclusion of fourth grade, students
from Central, Harper, McKenzie and Romona schools
attend Highcrest Middle School for 5th and 6th
grades and then matriculate to Wilmette Junior High
School. Those students attending Avoca Elementary
matriculate to Marie Murphy school (6-8.) All
Wilmette 8th graders attend the freshman campus of
New Trier High School and then to the east campus
in Winnetka.

729 WASHINGTON AVENUE ˙ WILMETTE AGENT BIO | 38
I have been selling residential real estate for over 23+ years. Reputation, tenacity and 100% client dedication are
among the key factors to my success. I love what I do and pride myself on giving 100% to every client. Over the
years I have helped sellers maximize the value of their homes and buyers identify good values. I live in Wilmette
with my husband and two daughters and enjoy the outdoors, cycling and spending time with my family. I welcome
the opportunity to help you with your real estate needs!
“Mary makes you feel like you are her only client with her personal attention, consistent communication, and hard work ethic. She’s been in the realty business a long time, and her extensive expertise makes a difference, whether you are selling or buying. She also is incredibly reassuring, whether you need to sell or find a house.”
“Mary did an amazing job not only selling our existing home but helping us find the perfect new home. She is extremely knowledgeable about the market and has an amazing network too! I have since referred a few clients to Mary over the years and they have 100% loved working with her.”
“Nobody knows the North Shore better than Mary. We’ve used her three times; all unique situations and she certainly demonstrated the breadth of her experience. I’ve also referred friends to Mary and used her on two corporate relocations. Most notable among Mary’s many strengths is her ability to assess the situation (buy or sell side) and develop a tailored plan of attack based on what best suits the needs of our family. In this way, she serves as trusted advisor rather than transactional broker. We wouldn’t do a real estate deal without her.”
Mary is a wonderful person. Very friendly and helpful. She helped me and my family relocate from Bermuda. She first found a rental for us in the neighborhood and then helped us find our perfect home in the same neighborhood. She knows her work well and has quick read on what her clients needs are. I would highly recommend her.
My experience with Mary Baubonis was incredibly positive. She served as an advocate, consultant, negotiator, marketer, confidante, and excellent and effective salesperson. I was impressive by her honesty and integrity, tenacity, engaging personality style, attention to detail, in-depth understanding of the local housing market, extended connections, ability to adapt to my needs, keen understanding of my time frame, availability, and constant communication. She sold my home in a quick time frame, offered excellent advice, made the entire process less stressful, and I ALWAYS felt listened to and understood.

“Mary Baubonis has been a joy to work with in listing and selling our home. We made the commitment to sell our five bedroom residence in the CAGE where we had lived for nearly 30 years. The challenge of cleaning it out much less selling the house was daunting. Right away Mary, who had sold three homes of friends, came up with a plan and real help. She has a number of professionals for staging, photographing, creating of brochures, donating to charities, and cleaning out that were invaluable in the whole process. Mary helped us to price our home at a realistic and sensible level comparable to similar homes in the neighborhood. There were some unique characteristics such as a lot and a half (75 foot wide by 176 deep) and a new roof. Mary even had cookies custom made in the likeness of our home for the real estate broker’s open house. Her finishing touches along with a technical team that employed the latest imagery and presentation materials in print and online were instrumental in closing the sale in a reasonable amount of time. She is a valuable partner in what can be a stressful experience. Mary and her team made it bearable and an overall successful endeavor.”
We worked with Mary last year to purchase a home in Wilmette. She is by far the best real estate agent we have ever worked with. She is very responsive and trustworthy. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell a home.
Mary was a lifesaver for our first home-buying experience! She is very proactive and professional. Mary made the process of searching for a home very easy and was spot-on with finding houses to look at that met the criteria of both my husband and I. She was a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to fill us in on the local offerings. (And I thought I knew the area!) I recommend her to anyone I know (whether they ask or not) :)
Mary is a joy to work with! A lovely individual who is extremely honest! I moved out of state but I would certainly work with her again. She has always had my best interest at heart when considering a home and my needs as an individual. She is such a wonderful person. Going to look at houses with here is just plain fun!
When I began looking I met Mary at an open house she was hosting. She struck me as a good listener. She took in what I was asking for and contacted me when she had found a home that had the things I was looking for. She was patient and never told me what I needed or didn’t need as many other realtors had. She never pressured me to buy or made me feel like I was taking too much of her time. She exudes a quiet elegance and I felt quite fortunate to have connected with someone who helped me find exactly what I wanted. I would highly recommend her for both sides of a real estate transaction!
