Brief Description of Undergraduate Courses Taught: (Course Title – Code: Description) 1 Introduction to infectious diseases/ Damascus University/ faculty of medicine/5th-‐year (1998-‐2006): A 6
credit-‐hour course that extends over one semester and is offered to 5th-‐year medical students. The course objectives are to teach basic skills and the main subjects in Infectious diseases.
2 Bedside teaching/ Damascus University/ faculty of medicine/4th, 5th and 6th-‐year (1998-‐2006): A 10-‐credit-‐hour course in Medicine that one academic year and is offered to 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students. The course concentrates on history-‐taking, physical examination, patients’ management, follow-‐up and principles of therapeutics.
3 Introduction to Medicine Course (MDMD 451): A 6 credit-‐hour course that extends over a 6-‐week period and is offered to the 4th-‐year medical students for 4 rotations per year. The course emphasizes history-‐taking and physical examination.
4 5th-‐year Clerkship Course in Medicine (MDMD 501): A 6-‐credit-‐hour course that is taught over a 6-‐week period and given to the 5th-‐year medical students for 6 rotations per year. The course objectives are to teach basic skills and the main subjects in Internal Medicine.
