We will bring cards that show the local treasure (local identity) and use them to explain what we found during our visit to Kesenuma last February. By doing this we hope to get answers to the following questions...

1. What is the local treasure in Tramutola?2. What sort of things can be a design collaborative project between Kesennuma and Tramutola?

ACTIVITIES PROPOSED BY FEEM AND PROLOCO OF TRAMUTOLA

PRESENTATION of the country with the help of videos, stories, etc.ART AND HISTORY Visit to characteristic cultural and artistic places (churches, palaces, etc..) of

Tramutola with the support of an expert in cultural heritage and history. CULTURAL EXCHANGE Dinner with typical products of Tramutola which will add the specialties that

prepare Japanese visitors. The exchange of ideas and planning goes well with food.

Meeting with local representatives. The idea is to enable a discussion on entrepreneurial activities, characteristics and history of Tramutola confronted with local people. In this way Japanese students will begin to investigate and understand the reality of the place.

Meeting with the young people of Tramutola. The idea is to continue the path of investigation undertaken by adding the element of design and cultural exchange.  In this phase could be presented in more detail the MARU’s projects

ENERGY AND HISTORY Exposition and explanation of the exhibition “Energie per i Saperi” ("Energy for

the knowledge") to enter the Tramutola past and present vocation for energy and to enter the basis of the project “Sentieri delle energie” ("Paths of energy").

Explanation of the project "Paths of energy" with the support of a video presentation, of the tourist office and architect in charge.

Paths of energy Tour, with the support of the Proloco technicians and the FEEM researcher to understand the history of industrial activity and the territorial peculiarities of Tramutola1.  abandoned oil wells tour2.  visit to the oil outcrops 3.  visit to the ENEL Hydroelectric4.  visit to the mills on the Caolo river 5.  visit to the Tramutola mount

WHY ENERGY AND HISTORY?

Because Tramutola people, despite their rich traditional history, want restart from their recent history: energy.

They are proud of their past made of oil and water, they feel their identity being

“Il paese dell'energia” (The energy village).

Although abandoned by industrial activities that had seen the star of the first extraction of hydrocarbons in southern Italy,

Tramutola today, responds by drawing from its past and turns in its future.
