What Is Martial Arts?● By definition:
○ martial arts is said to be a codified system and tradition of combat practices, that are practiced for the use of self-defence, competition, physical health, fitness, and as well as mental, physical, and spiritual development
So how do we know that martial arts really affects our bodies in all these ways?
● Relieves Stress○ The hormone Cortisol is released producing
dopamine and serotonin in simpler terms the "feel good" hormone.
● Benefits● Lowers your risk for cancer and heart
attacks● Helps keep your arteries unclogged
In The Video
Boy Begins punching himself…
● Shows his ingrown hatred towards himself. ● Becomes his own bully.● Blames himself for everything that has happened to him .
He Only Represents Millions
“WHY ME...”
“I HAVE NO ONE...”
“WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME...”
“WHAT DID I EVER DO TO DESERVE THIS...”
Why doesn't anyone stop and help?
● As humans we naturally conform to the ways of society for a sense of comfort and to fulfill the need to feel normal.
● How can anyone grow as a person conforming to the ways of society?○ All we eventually learn to do is become a sea of bullies…
● The same ‘outcasts’ or boys and girls fall into the hands of depression or develop a deep self hate for themselves because they start believing all the negative things in which they are told.
Through Martial Arts● Our youth can begin to…
○ Learn self respect and self discipline at their own desired pace.
○ Get in touched with their inner light.○ Practice and participate and become better at relieving
their own stress and relaxing their body.○ Put forth complete focus and dedication and begin to
block out all world like things and focus on what is going on at hand, in an environment where everyone has the same goal with different motives.
In The Video“ we grow up learning to cheer on the underdog, because we see ourselves in them. We stem from a root planted in
belief that we are not what we are called.”
● In martial arts the use of different colors in belts acts as both a motivation for the student but also a sense of a personal accomplishment towards their own improvements.
Pathos And Logos
● The use of pathos is seen through the use in a more sad choice of music and through the visual display of the young boy repeatedly punching himself, causing our audience to feel a sense of sympathy and sadness towards the main character.
● The use of logos is present in the video when we begin reciting statistics about the amount of students likely to commit suicide from being victims of bullying.
Ad Strategies Used
● Plain folk and weasel words○ Within the video we do not use any famous faces, all the participants are to
be your everyday students.○ the used of weasel words is evident when we begin stating statistics.
Although we are stating these statistics is is not fully guaranteed that the a specific percentage of student who commit suicide from bullying in the video is that sam percentage every year.
