LITURGICAL ROLES for June 8 & 9

The world must be able to find God in the Church, in order to overcome

confusion and restlessness, and find purpose and peace. A Christian must

be a mirror in which everyone can see how different life is, when they live in

constant devotion and union with Christ. We are all called to be part of the family of God, to turn to him and be

restored as his children. The unity of Christians is based on God and his presence in us. It is not centered on human

decisions or individual purposes, but on being one, as the Father and the Son are one; it is not the product of

agreement, but of love and forgiveness. Jesus expressed his desire that all who believe be with him and see the

majesty and glory of God. People need to see how being united with Jesus changes the life of the believer. When

people see the peace and goodness that inspires our faith and which the Holy Spirit empowers, lives change and the

world is transformed one life at a time. - Ángel Carrión-Tavárez, Ph.D.

This week let us take some extra time to pray for all of our sisters and brothers who are persecuted and to often killed

for their commitment to following Jesus Christ. There are too many places in the world today where there is no

religious freedom. As we pray for those people and places, let us raise prayers of gratitude to our heavenly Father for

the incredible freedom we have in this country to worship God.

HOLY COMMUNION

If you have trouble walking up to the front for

communion, you can sit wherever you choose

in the church at St. Henry, and a Eucharistic

Minister will bring communion to you. Please

let an usher know, as you enter the church, where you are

sitting for communion, or stand up after communion so

the Eucharistic Minister can see you. There is no

designated spot for you to sit.

ADDITIONAL RECONCILIATION TIMES

as page 5, but reconciliation has been added

from 4:00-4:45 pm Sunday afternoon before

the 5:00 bilingual mass.

AVE MARIA STUDY CLUB

The members of Ave Maria Study Club will meet on

Thursday, June 13th (please note day change). We will

meet at St. Mary Church at 12:10p.m. for Mass that will be

said for Anna Mae Wilson, Pat Finch and Mary Oetker,

members we lost in the past year. After Mass we will go to

the Tremont on Main for lunch. Our next meeting will be

in September.
