The night was an excellent celebration of the sporting achievements of our students in 2017, with this year our best ever year for onfield/court results. Congratulations to our major award winners Telesia and Jalen, and thank you to former student and inspirational speaker Eliyan Lobez. Eliyan has continued her love of health and fitness since graduating from Marsden SHS and it was great to have her address our students with such a positive and determined message. One of the key partnerships which has had an impact on our sporting success this year is our relationship with Fizzio for Life. Michael and Jo have provided a range of services and opportunities for our students and staff this year and are looking for ways to continue to develop our partnership in 2018. They have two short surveys, one for students and one for parents, in an effort to gain further feedback. Girls in Gym

Our Tuesday morning gym sessions for the female members ofour Sports Excellence Programs continue to grow in strength. This week saw even more of our female student athletes in thegym, with basketball, football and touch / rugby league wellrepresented. The girls continue to learn key points of techniquefrom Mr Carapeto and the reasons behind their design of theirindividualised programs. With some of the younger membersof our programs venturing into the gym, it was amazing tosee our senior students take them under their wings, providingsupport and instruction to help them feel comfortable in a newenvironment. Our girls are really building a sense of unity acrossthe programs, and there is a real positive buzz around girlsin the gym as we finish off the year. Girl’s gym is open from6:45am until 8am every Tuesday morning. We look forward toseeing even more of our female athletes there next week!
