M E N U SOur menus include a wide variety of choices to appeal to your guests. Included you will find suggested packages. Crafted and customized menus are also available and welcomed. All menu prices are subject to 25% taxable service charge and 8.25% sales and beverage tax.

F O O D A N D B E V E R A G E O U T S I D E O F H O T E LAll food and beverage must be supplied and prepared by the hotel and must be consumed on premise within the time frame of the event stated in the Banquet Event Order and Contract; this includes alcohol. The hotel reserves the right to confiscate food or beverage that is brought into the hotel, which is in violation of this policy, if prior arrangements have not been made and docu-ment in writing by hotel catering manager.

L A B O R C H A R G E SComplete and major re-setting of event space(s) from previously agreed setups per your Banquet Event Order(s) may result in additional cost to the client in the form of event space rental.

M E N U T A S T I N GTasting panels are available after the event has been contracted with your catering manager. Please allow your catering manager at least two weeks’ notice so he or she can coordinate with the chef and banquets team. Menu tastings, for up to four guests, are provided for all booked weddings, included in the event pricing. For all other types of social events, tastings are offered on an as-needed basis and may incur additional costs. Requesting second tastings, additional guests, or a tasting prior to a signed contract may incur additional costs, as well; please consult with your catering manager.

F U N C T I O N G U A R A N T E E SFood guarantees are due by noon, five business days prior to your event. This number will be considered your minimum guarantee and is not subject to reduction. If no guarantee is given, the expected attendance, as stated on the contract, will be considered the guarantee. Our chef will prepare for 3% over the guarantee. You will be charged for the guaranteed number of guests or the number of guests in attendance, whichever is greater.

B I L L I N G A N D P A Y M E N T SWe accept cash, check, money order, and credit card payments. All functions must be paid in full in advance according to your contracted payment schedule. No matter the method of payment you select for your event, a credit card must be kept on file to secure your event, serve as a backup payment method, and cover any charges that incur during or after your event. Scheduled payments will be charged to the method of payment on file unless otherwise instructed before the payment due date. It is the responsibility of the client to instruct the hotel if payment is to be provided in another form than the one on file.

C A N C E L L A T I O N P O L I C YIf the hotel is advised that a contract event is being canceled, then a cancellation fee will apply and is non-transferable to future booked events. Any deposits made prior to the event cancella-tion are non-refundable. Please see your contract for specific percentages, amounts, and details.

D I S P L A Y S A N D D E C O R A T I O N SAll signs, displays, or decorations proposed by the client are subject to hotel approval. All regis-tration, directional, or advertisement signs must be printed in a professional manner. No signs, banners, displays, or exhibits will be permitted in the public areas of the hotel with prior hotel approval. All decorations must meet approval of the Houston Fire Department. The hotel will not permit the affixing of anything to the walls, floors, or ceilings with nails, staples, adhesives, or any other substance without prior written approval from the hotel.

W E D D I N G C O O R D I N A T I O NIt is required that our wedding couples hosting both a ceremony and reception at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown hire the services of professional coordinator. It is up to the client what level of service they choose to secure; however, it must be at least a day-of coordinator to assist with your schedule of events. This service is not required for reception-only events; however, it is very highly recommended. Our catering managers are available to make sure your day runs smoothly in regards to hotel operations and act as an on-site liaison between the client and our banquet staff. Please see our preferred vendor list for recommendations.

W E D D I N G S E C U R I T YProfessional event security can be secured for your event at $60 per hour with a four-hour minimum. These specially trained HPD officers provide an extra level of support and comfort in regards to the privacy of your event. This service is not required, however, is recommended for wedding events. Rates may increase during holiday seasons.
