PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Welcome back to the beginning of term 2. I hope that you all had a wonderful break with families and friends.

During the holidays a number of students represented the school at the Coolamon Anzac march. A big thank you for your efforts and also to Mrs Pattison for co-ordinating and marching with the students and Mrs Stone for marching.

The weather is obviously changing rather quickly. All new uni-forms can be purchased by visiting the Hunters website and find-ing Marrar PS under sporting clubs. Please make sure that all uniform items are clearly labelled.

Last Friday was the first day that students were able to purchase pies and sausage rolls from school. Pies are $4 and sausage rolls are $3. This will continue for term 2 and 3.

It would be appreciated if parents/carers could contact the school via phone or provide a note on their return to school.

Miss Salzke finished up for the year this week. As mentioned pre-viously, Miss Piltz will be replacing her. I am sure that we all wel-come Miss Piltz and hope that she has an enjoyable time at Mar-rar PS. We look forward to hearing from Miss Salzke once the baby has arrived!

Welcome back to another busy term at MPS! Whilst the term is just beginning, so much is

happening in the coming weeks.! A big event for year 3 and 5 next week is Naplan. Best of

luck to those students. Remember to read each part carefully and do your best!

There are also many sporting carnivals and opportunities to represent the school so keep

up the good work!

I would like to thank those students who attended the Anzac Day march in Coolamon and

Mrs Pattison and Mrs Stone for marching with them. I have been told you all represented

our school with pride.

As you are well aware, I am now on maternity leave, my last day was Tuesday 7th May.

While this has come up so quickly and I couldn’t be more excited for the next chapter in

my life, it makes my mind rest easier knowing the school has been lucky enough to find

Miss Piltz to take on the role. It definitely makes going on leave much easier when you

know you are leaving the school in good hands. Welcome to MPS Miss Piltz!

Good luck for the rest of the term and don’t worry anyone, I will be back before you know

it!!

Miss Salzke.

4-6 REPORT

This week in 4-6 we have started a power point on Jenolan Caves because that is where we

are going for this year’s excursion. We had to find information about Jenolan Caves. Mr Ad-

amson gave us some questions about Jenolan Caves which we had to answer. Some of us are

already finished.

Last Friday we started doing athletics for sport. It was fun. We did long jump, a relay and

shot put.

Also, Miss Salzke had her last day on Tuesday because she is having a baby. We now have

Miss Piltz to do library and teach K-3.

Molly Pattison.

LIBRARY LEAVES

P & C NOTES

Library will remain on a Monday after-

noon. Remember to return your books,

so you can borrow new ones to read each

week.

Keep reading and logging for the Prem-

iers Reading Challenge! Some students

have done very well already but still have

some books to read before they are satisfactorily com-

plete. Remember the timeframe books need to be read in

and only K-2 can log books that have been read to them.

Sorry year 3, class books don’t count for you!

Keep reading! Miss Salzke.

We would like to wish all the wonderful

mothers, grandmothers and all the

amazing people in our lives a wonderful

Mothers Day!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Mothers Day morn-

ing tea, we enjoyed delicious baked goodies in the lovely,

warm sun!

We would like to thank our volunteers who are selling raffle

tickets at Coolamon tomorrow for our street raffle. These

fundraisers are all important to help the P&C subsidise costs

for all students.

Next Saturday 18th May, we will be having a sock stall for

the election. Socks will be sold for $5 a pair and are available

in a funky range of colours!

ANZAC DAY

On the 25th April, it was ANZAC Day and it was at Coo-

lamon. When I got there, my family were the only Mar-

rar kids there so we waited. About 10 minutes later the

Pattison’s arrived with the wreath. Soon we were march-

ing but there were only 4 kids, the Stones and the Patti-

sons. We

marched until we

made it to the

Cenotaph. We

waited for a bit

then Molly and I went and laid the wreath. When we got

back we waited for everyone else to lay their wreaths.

The Last Post was played and the pigeons were released.

Then they said a few words and it was over.
