2014-2015 Annual Report Marquette Mission Statement Marquette Academy is a PreK-12 Roman Catholic learning community that strives to promote spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical growth. We believe and developing critical thinking skills, a lifelong love of learning, and preparing our students to enter an increasingly interconnected society. MARQUETTE SOCIETY ANNUAL GIFT FUND APPEAL 10/15/14 TO 6/30/15

The  Marquette  Society  was  formed  in  the  fall  of  2003.    The  following  Clubs  were  established,  and  donors  were  invited  to  join  the  Society  to  become  a  member  of  one  of  the  Clubs.    Over  the  years,  many  have  climbed  the  ladder  and  many  more  have  joined  the  society.    There  are  presently  approximately  300  members  in  the  Marquette  Society.      The  goal  is  to  double  the  membership.    The  2014-­‐2015  Annual  Gift  Fund  Appeal  raised  just  short  of  $85,000.00.  Time and time again, Marquette has been blessed with alumni, parents and friends who realize that the advancement of the school depends not only on the vision of the current administration, but also on those benefactors who provide support. Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support.

1000 Paul Street Club ($10,000 and over) Marquette has changed thousands of lives over its 156 year history. The first structure was a frame building situated at Washington and Paul Streets. The historic address is used to name this level to recognize those farsighted individuals who have committed to the vision of Marquette far into the future. Anonymous Knights of Columbus-Ottawa Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Ruder Shield Club ($5,000-$9,999) Three outstanding virtues of a Christian Crusader are symbolized in the traditional crusader shield; the drawn sword for courage and fortitude, St. Joseph’s staff for purity and family dedication and the lighted lamp for wisdom and knowledge. Finally, the cross is the symbol of our faith. Mr. & Mrs. Sherman Weiss Victory Club ($2,500-$4,999) This level is a nod to the success of those students who have struggled against odds or difficulties in the classroom, on the playing field or in an extracurricular program. GE Foundation Mrs. Mary (Likovich) O’Brien Principals Club ($1,000-$2,499) Since 1859, the Principal has been the educational and spiritual leader of our school. This club is dedicated to the alumni and friends who have mirrored this leadership in their Christian lives. Members are acknowledged for advancing the educational opportunities at Marquette. Sisters of Mercy Club ($750-$999) “…the matter being duly discussed is finally and unanimously agreed upon that a colony of five should go upon said mission. The Rev. Living Donor Wall Notes: The placement on the wall is determined by cumulative lifetime giving. Benefactor of Highest Distinction over $50,000 Benefactor of Distinction 25,000-49,999 Benefactor of Honor 10,000-24,999 Benefactor of Merit 5,000-9,999 Benefactor of Support 1,000-4,999

•   Giving includes any type of monetary contribution, bequest, scholarship, endowment, tribute gift, annual fund gift or gift-in-kind. Payment of tuition directed for any particular student does not qualify as a donation. Gifts to MMM, The Century Club or the Go Club do not qualify.

Note: Endowment contributions to the Class are grouped by the Class. The contribution does not receive individual recognition on the Wall.

•   If a group of individuals make tributes to an individual totaling $1,000 or more, the family has the option of placing a plaque on the wall stating “In memory of” , “In honor of” etc.

The deceased individual may have already been a qualified donor in their lifetime. For that reason, you might see a name on the board twice. In most instances, the donor has chosen how their name should be displayed on the Wall. Some choose to have the nameplate say “In memory of”, or “The Family of” etc. If they choose this option, they cannot have their individual name put on also. It must be one or the other. •   The Wall was started circa 1992. The records that were kept at that time were on an Apple PC

with discs that can no longer be read. In 2010, the printed information from those discs was transferred to the Results Plus donor tracking system that is now in use. The Results Plus tracking has been used since 1994. A small number of donors were placed on the Wall in the very beginning before any automated donor records were kept. Those financial records have been destroyed.

•   The Wall was last updated in June 2015 using records from year-end 6/30/15.
