2. As a result of this cultural shift and the newtechnology, the old ways of marketing arebeing phased out. The inventions that arehaving the greatest impact on the changesare the following. 3. 90 percent of Buyers use the internet to start their search. When buyers were asked where they first learned about the homethey purchased, 42 percent said the Internet. 87% of buyers bought their home with the use of a real estate agent.That number has steadily increased from 69% in 2001. So newspaper advertising is less effective as people are mostlysearching online these days and the actual role of a real estate agenthas changed because of the information on the Internet. 4. DVRs directly impact television commercialsbecause now people are fast forwarding over thecommercials to get to the show they are interestedin. 5. E-Readers impact newspapers in that people nolonger want to juggle the pages of a newspaper andtherefore turn to their digital device. Also most e-Readers are able to connect to theInternet and then again bringing in the Internet tosearch for homes from this device. 6. Now people are texting, surfing the net, andmaking reservations all from their mobile devices. Some dont even use a lap top computer. Changing the way you market yourself as a RealEstate Agent and/or Company. People can now findthe detailed information about a home themselvesor they think they can. How accurate is it though? 7. So what can be done to adapt to this Cultural Shiftin our society?Weve gone from a push advertising format to apull advertising format.People now pull in the information that intereststhem and they block the things that do not interestthem. 8. Formulating a marketing strategy. Entering your business onto the most popularplatforms of Social Media for real estate. Executing and continually revisiting the goalsset forth and readjusting when needed. OR most preferably train agents or theirassistants to run the platforms themselves. 9.
