Marketing Areas in SAP hybris Marketing You use marketing areas to define organizational units. Use marketing areas as follows to determine which instances of a business object a user can access: Define the required marketing areas in Customizing for SAP hybris Marketing under General Settings Define Marketing Areas . Use the Authorization Object for Marketing Area (HPA_MKT_AR) authorization object to define the role-based instance authorizations in the Role Maintenance (PFCG) transaction. The authorization object is defined by the following fields: o ID of the marketing area o Business object o Activity The available user activities are Change and Display. Note You use the marketing area to restrict the start authorization of a user, but you cannot use it to extend the start authorization. For example, a user is allowed to change a specific business object based on the marketing area. However, the user start authorization only allows the user to display business objects of that type. As a result, the user can only display the specific business object. However, the user requires the authorization by marketing area (in addition to the start authorization) to display the specific business object. Note Budget planning uses areas of responsibility for instance authorization instead of marketing areas. Areas of responsibility are defined in Customizing for SAP hybris Marketing under Planning Budget Planning Define Areas of Responsibility . Instance Authorization by Team Membership In addition to the instance authorization by marketing area, you can grant instance authorization by team membership, for example, using the Team facet of a campaign or target group (instance of the campaign or target group business object). When you add a user to the team of a campaign, the system still checks whether the user has the following authorizations: Start authorization for the Change activity Authorization based on the marketing area. If a team member is not authorized by the marketing area, but only by the team membership, the team member is indicated as External.
