The Silence of the lambs

• Though the film is a thriller, the film still has elements of crime films and is an essential film to examine in determining. The film was directed by Jonathan Demme who won best director award in the 64th academy awards and was released on February 14th 1991. The film grossed $272.7million with a budget of $19million.

Max Payne

Max Payne is an action/crime drama which focuses on the role of the detective, which clearly ties in closely to our film opening, though the film at times has elements of action films, which we could not possibly try to involve. The film was directed by John Moore and was released on October 17th 2008 which grossed more than $85 million worldwide.

Sherlock Holmes

• Sherlock Holmes is an action crime/mystery which again focuses on the role of the detective and just as importantly the criminal he is chasing. The film was released on 26th December 2009 and grossed $524million with a budget of $90million.
