All of this is to some degree important or it wouldn’t otherwise be in the text.

Nonetheless, it seems that a few points are especially relative:

1. the Crucifixion.

2. the Burial.

3. the Resurrection.

4. the Commissioning of the Twelve.

The Importance of the Crucifixion.• Jesus died for your sins & mine.

Rom.3:23 & 6:23

• Jesus was separated from the His Father that we might be joined to Him eternally, 15:34 > 2Cor.5:21 >

Rom.5:6-11.

• The Crucifixion of Jesus proved His Humanity- God cannot die! Heb.2:17

The Importance of the Resurrection.• As death proved His humanity, the

Resurrection from the dead proved His divinity!

• This gives us hope!

• Our bodies too must die….

but this is not our end anymore than it was for Jesus! We too will be resurrected, 1Cor.15:12-28.

The Importance of the Commission.• It contains the very core of the gospel

which was and must be preached to all creation, v.15.

• It tells us how we too must be crucified to be resurrected:

-Believe and be Baptized, Rom.6:3

-to be Saved, Rom.6:4-11.

Think about this as we conclude our study of Mark:

• Are all the miracles and teachings of Jesus, the life that He lived, wasted on you?

• Is the sacrifice of His Passion for naught your case?

• Does His/the Resurrection inspire you with Hope or Dread?
