NAKED MORRIS DANCERS CAUGHT ME ON THE HOP

(Rcprintcd sithout pcrmirrion iron Ncr¡Of the World)

I've been happily ma¡ried - orthoughü I wa¡ happily mârr¡ed - to my police-m¡n husband for the last 16 yea,n. Noü long¡fter we werc wed he ra¡ ¡ent to a countrydi¡tricü rêre re sct up home, and both ourchildren were born there.

I've never really taken to village life, but my husba¡rd ha¡ - even joiningthe Mor¡i¡dancer¡. It'r no good, but I jurt f¡nd Morrisd¿ncing hilariou¡. So while he wa¡ engaged inthere rural purauit¡ I u¡ed to nip up totown and¡ec my family, taking the Lid¡ with mc.

I'd donc this about three weekr ago, planning to rtay overnight at my mumr¡ hou¡e.But when I got there, I found my ¡ieter and herkids had arrived too, and there wasn't roomforur all to rleep. I decided to leave my kidr thereand set off back again, getting home aboutmidnight. Now I wish I'd rung to warn myhueband I was coming bacl that night.

The house was in darknes¡ ¡nd I letmyaelf in and went uprteirs. I got to thebedroom and crept in, then I heard the soundof tinkling belle. Puzrled, I turned on the lightand there in my bed ra¡ my hu¡b¿nd and one

of hia lady dancing partnerr, both ¡tark naledexcept for the bell¡ around their c¿lves.

Well, I went potty. I bodily flungthe woman out of the houoc, drured in noth-ing but her bloody belb. Since then theatmosphere, 8s you c¡n imaginc, harntt beengood.

I'm wondering if I rhould havechucked him ouül But he eayr ít was the firgtand only time and that it'r all my fault forrefuring to take part in village lifc. Hc oayr ifI'd b¿en intererted, none of thi¡ would havehappened. I'm not aure that I can get over thisand forgive him.

Unsigned

Dear Unrigned,Since you found the Morris dancing hilarious, couldn't you find it in your heart to laugh atthia, too? Poor man, to be caught with bellson mugt be the be¡t deterrent to being un-faithful again. My guesa ir that for them toland up in bed, ring-a-dinging, muat meanthey vere both one over the eight belb. Turnit into a family johe - and get a bit moreinvolved in hig interegts.

CORECTIONSl{o, we ain't perfect yet! TheFebruary issue of The Notes didhave a few errors. Firstly we wouldlike to apologize to photographerDavid Langer - who took pictures ofThe Red Clay Ramblers - for notcrediting. Everybody spells JoeBenarroch's name lyrong but that'sno excuse for us. lve sincearlyapologizo to the residents of 202Cowan Ave - ü'e claimed that to bethe address of Tho Honey Dew Cafebut it's not - try 220. Well, if youever $'anted to start a folk club inyour home.... And a ghastly error!lVe forgot to give the byline credit toHowardKaplan and Susan l;awrence(he ,,wrote and she kibbitzed) fortheir article ARE YOU BUSY THISWEEKEND? Lastlf¡-.(thank good-ness!) a small error in Dore Graham'schart (page I 5) should have listed theFire and Air facets as Male insteadof Female. At least we now knowour left from right.
