ARISE MY SOUL, ARISE VERSE 1: Arise, my soul, arise; shake off thy guilty fears; The bleeding sacrifice in my behalf appears: Before the throne my surety stands, My name is written on His hands. Before the throne my surety stands, My name is written on His hands. CHORUS: Behold, the Lamb of God! Compassion in His eyes. I am His, and He is mine. Arise, my soul, arise! VERSE 2: He ever lives above to intercede for me His all-redeeming love, His precious blood to plead: His blood atoned for all our race, And sprinkles now the throne of grace. His blood atoned for all our race, And sprinkles now the throne of grace. VERSE 3: Five bleeding wounds He bears, received on Calvary; They pour almighty prayers, they strongly speak for me Forgive him, Oh! Forgive, they cry Nor let that ransomed sinner die. Forgive him, Oh! Forgive, they cry Nor let that ransomed sinner die.

This Morning’s Praise Songs:

VERSE 4: The Father hears Him pray, His dear anointed One; He cannot turn away The presence of His son His Spirit answers to the blood And tells me I am born of God His Spirit answers to the blood And tells me I am born of God VERSE 5: With Him, I’m reconciled; His pardoning voice I hear; He owns me for His child; I can no longer fear: With confidence I now draw nigh, And “Abba, Father, Abba” cry. With confidence I now draw nigh, And “Abba, Father, Abba” cry. “Arise, My Soul, Arise” Words by Charles Wesley; Music by the Charles Wesley Project CCLI License #2215299

Every Christian is given the great gift of salvation, and also the gift of service.

There are several opportunities for service at Marion United Methodist Church at present:

We are looking for a volunteer or volunteers to replace offering envelopes and pencils in the pews of the sanctuary each week. This is a great opportunity to walk among the pews and pray for your pastors, staff, and church members! If you are interested in this ministry, please call the church office.

We need to move furniture in the children’s area immediately following the worship service today so that the carpets may be cleaned during this Spring Break.

On Sunday, March 24, the furniture will need to be moved back prior to Sunday School. We will have a breakfast at 8:00 a.m., and then move the furniture following our breakfast.

If you would like to join us for breakfast on March 24, and help us move the furniture back in place for our kids, please sign up below, and drop this form in the offering plate so we know how much food to prepare.

Holy Week is among the most meaningful seasons in the church year. Throughout this week, we are given the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of Jesus and his disciples, from the shouts of “Hosanna!” at the beginning of the week, to the cries of the mob, “Crucify him!” All culminates in the Easter Sunday declaration, “He is risen!” This year, you are invited to join us at Marion United Methodist Church through a variety of worship services and special events. March 24, Sunday Palm/Passion Sunday services at 10:45 will give us an overview of the events leading to

our Lord’s passion. Palm Sunday Children’s Festival – begins immediately following Worship Service –

pizza, games, Easter egg hunt. Families are encouraged to bring two dozen plastic eggs filled with candy or money or a Bible verse. Ages: preschool to fourth grade. Please sign up in the Welcome Center. Donations are welcome.

March 25 – March 29, Sunday through Good Friday Holy Week services sponsored by the West Memphis/Marion Ministerial Fellowship at local churches. Please see separate insert for details. Thursday’s West Memphis/Marion Fellowship service will be held at Marion United

Methodist Church, with lunch following the service. March 28 – Holy Thursday Service at 6:00 p.m. We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper, as

we follow in Jesus’ footsteps with his disciples in the Upper Room. This will be a service of song, the Word, sermon, and communion.

March 31 – Easter Sunday – celebration of Christ’s resurrection! Sunrise Service at Crittenden Memorial Cemetery, 6:30 a.m. Easter Breakfast 8:00 a.m., Marion United Methodist Church Gymnasium Easter Celebration service – 10:45 a.m. in Sanctuary
