www.bcmca.ca Marine Atlas of Pacific Canada description Feather boa kelp (Egregia menziesii) is a lower intertidal to subtidal kelp, which grows on rocks in harsh, wave stress environments. is species of kelp is impressive in its size and the appearance of its branches, which carry a dense fringe of blades, which are dark brown to olive-green in colour. roughout much of its range, feather boa kelp serves as habitat for the tall-shelled Seaweed Limpet (Tectura insessa), which feeds on the superficial tissues of the kelp. is species of kelp also provides habitat for other marine fauna and is found in similar areas to surfgrass and other species of kelp such as Macrocystis. Feather boa kelp (Egregia menziesii) is a lower intertidal to subtidal kelp, which grows on rocks in harsh, wave stress environments. This species
