Chapter1TheMysteryoftheWatersThe waters are mentioned at the beginning of creation. The Spirit of God

moveduponthefaceofthewaters(Gen.1:2).Darknesswasuponthefaceofthedeep. One translation calls it "the roaring deep". The earth was without form(chaotic).TheHebrewphrasefor"withoutform"istohuwabohu.Tohu wabohu, that unformed chaos, to which are added the darkness,

choshek, and the watery deep, tehom,—all are understood in Job, Psalm andseveral of the Prophets to have been dominated by entities that are at enmitywith God. They are controlled by the "powers" resisting God's power. Godrepresents order, light, life, love, and creation. The chaotic deep representsdisorder,darkness,destruction,anddeath.Thebathicsea,thewildoceanwaters,isthatwhichiscontainedbyGodintheCreation.(R.Bixler)

God gathered the waters together in seas and contained them. He setboundaries and commanded the dry land to appear. The word that mostaccuratelydescribesthisactionismuzzle.Godmuzzledtherebelliouspowersincreation.Thesepowersare identified inscriptureasLeviathan,Rahab,and thedragon.God's power in creation is used to restrict these rebellious spirits andmaketheearthhabitableforman.

Wateritselfisnotthatwhichisevil,butratherthemalevolentspiritualpowercontrolling theseas. Indeed,water in thecreationnarrativeofGenesis2 is thevery basis for fertility. The ocean and the fresh water are contrasted, onemisusedbyahostilespiritualpowerandtheotherprovidedbyacaringGodasalife-givingnecessity.(R.Bixler)

Thereare"powers"linkedtothewaters.Wecallthesemarinedemons.Theycan still affect the land when men invite them through "conscious" or"unconscious"pactsanddecisions.Coastalareasarevulnerable to thesespiritsandchurchesintheseareasneedtobeawareoftheiractivities.God'spowerisneededtodaytomuzzlethemjustasGoddidinthebeginning.ThoseinvolvedinspiritualwarfareshouldnotoverlookthiskeycomponentofSatan'skingdom.

OLORD,howmanifoldarethyworks!Inwisdomhastthoumadethemall:theearthisfullofthyriches.

So is this great andwide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable,bothsmallandgreatbeasts,Theregotheships:thereisthatleviathan,whomthouhastmadetoplaytherein.(Psa.104:24-26)

Lettheheavenandearthpraisehim,theseas,andeverythingthatmoveththerein.(Psa.69:34)

The marine kingdom is one of the most varied and spectacular kingdomscreatedbyGod.Thereisanamazingbeautyanddiversitywithinthiskingdom.ThiskingdomrepresentsGod'swisdom.Theoceansprovidenumerousbenefits.Theoceansarethecleaningsystemfortherefuseoftheearth.Theoceansalsoregulateseasonsandweatherpatterns.Manwasgivendominionoverthemarinekingdom(Gen.1:26).Satandesirestocontrolthemarinekingdomandhasahostofspiritsunderhiscommandthatassisthimindoingthis.

Demons thatoperate from thewaters (oceans, seas, lakes, rivers) are calledmarinespirits.Thereisawholeclassofdemonsthatoperatefromwater.Thesespirits represent witchcraft, lust, perversion, murder, death, pride, rebellion,destruction,andgreed.

Waterisasymboloflife.Therecanbenolifeapartfromwater.Itshouldnotbe surprising thatdemonswouldpervert this truth anduse thewaters tobringdeath and destruction.God also useswater to bring judgment as he did uponPharaoh.

The earth is founded upon the seas, and established upon the floods (Psa.24:2).Theearthisconnectedtotheseas.Theseasaffecttheearthinmanyways.Isthereaspiritualcorrelationaswellasanaturalone?Hasthedevildevisedaplantocapturetheearththroughtheseas?

Whywouldn'tthedevildeviseaplantocapturetheheartofcities?Howarethewater frontsgateways toacityandevenanation.TheMafia in the1950'sdevised aplan to ruleover thewater frontswithviolence, financial greed andmurder.Whoweretheyinfluencedby?Whogavethemtheideatotakeoverthewaterfronts?Isitpossiblethattheycouldhavebeeninfluencedbywaterspiritsofmurderanddestruction?(WaymanThomas)

Springbreakhasbecomeapopulartimeforthousandsofyoungpeopletogototheoceananditsbeaches.

Sexual perversion and drunkenness operates at a high level during thesetimes.Arethousandsofyoungpeoplebeingseducedbymarinespiritstocomeandpracticedebauchery?Manyof thesestudentsarebeingdemonizedthroughtheritualofspringbreak.

Many cities in America are strongholds of perversion, violence, drugaddiction,witchcraftand rebellion.Manyof thesecitiesareon largebodiesofwater. They include San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, NewOrleans and Chicago. International cities such asAmsterdam, Rio de Janeiro,Istanbul,CapeTown,andMumbaiareexamplesofcitiescontrolledbymarinespirits.Thesecitiesaregatewaycitiesthatincludeports.Thereisagreatdegree

ofspiritualtrafficthroughthesegateways.Marinespiritsmustbechallengedandboundifwearetoseerevivalcometothesecities.

Therehasbeenviolence,blood,murder,rape,slaveryandthieverywithinouroceans. Thousands of slaves were thrown overboard through the slave trade.Wealth,includinggoldandsilver,hasbeentransportedacrosstheoceans,afterlands were plundered. Illegal drugs have been transported across the seas.Marine spiritspromotemurder andgreed.Bloodshedcausesdefilement.Manywatershavebeendefiledbybloodwhichgivesmarinespiritsstrengthtooperate.Therehavebeenmanycovenantsmadewithspiritsconnectedtothewaters(Isa.28:17-18).

Waterways are gateways to cities and nations. Satan will always try topossess the gates. Hewill place some of his strongest demons at these gates.Gatescontroltheflowinandoutofaregion.Wearetopossessthegatesoftheenemy.WecancommandthegatestoopenfortheKingofGlorytoenter(Psa.24:7).

Waters and seas represent thatwhich is secret and hidden.There aremanymysteries and secrets hidden under the waters. People are often attracted tobodiesofwatertoperformsecretrituals.Thisisespeciallytrueintherealmofwitchcraft.Manypeoplego to islandsand takecruises toengage in sexual sinandfornication.Thereismuchfornicationperformedonthewaters.

Therearemanyspiritsthatarerepresentedbyseacreatures.Itisthenatureofthese spirits to remain secret and hidden. They are often hard to discern anddetect.Many of these spirits have the form of sea serpents, fish, amphibians,crocodiles, crabs, squids, frogs, eels, andother creeping things.There are alsospiritsthatlooklikehalffishandhalf-man,mermaids,andotherhybrids.Thisisbecausethesespiritsseektointerminglewithmenandcorruptsociety.

Wehavecastoutmanymind-bindingandmind-controllingspirits thathavetheformofasquidoranoctopus.Thesespiritshavetentaclesthatwraparoundtheminds of people hindering them from thinking clearly.These spirits causemuchconfusionandhelpblindpeoplefromseeingthetruth.Thesearepowerfulspiritsthatoftenrequirefastingtobreak.

Spiritsoflustandperversioncanoftentaketheformoffrogs.Leviathantakestheformofalargeseaserpent.

...thoughtheybehidfrommysightinthebottomofthesea,thencewillIcommandtheserpent,andheshallbitethem:(Amos9:3)

ThereisnothinghiddenfromtheLORD.Hediscoversthedeepthingsoutofdarkness (Job 12:22). The dark deep is as light to the LORD. There is nodarkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hidethemselves (Job 34:22). Evil cannot hide from God. Marine spirits and their

operationsarenothiddenfromhiseyes.In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall

punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent;andheshallslaythedragonthatisinthesea.(Isa.27:1)

This is not referring to a natural creature. God is not angry with whales.Leviathanisaspiritualentity.Hemakesthedeeptoboillikeapot(Job41:31).Heisakingoverallthechildrenofpride(Job41:34).Godhaspromisedadayinwhichthekingofpride(leviathan)willbecrushed.Leviathanisaproudrulingspirit in the marine kingdom. The marine kingdom and its demons will bejudged.Thisjudgmentwillcomethroughthechurch.

We are living in the day in which God is exposing this realm of satan'skingdom. Marine spirits are being judged and cast out. Their control overfamilies,cities,andnationswillbebroken.

Leviathan and Rahab are arrogant sea monsters. They have multitudes ofdemonsthathelpthemintheirresistancetothepurposeofGod.Godisagainstthe proud. He has determined to judge these spirits and rebuke them in theirpride (Psa. 119:21). We can execute upon them the judgment written (Psa.149:6-9).Marinespiritshatepraise.Theyhatefasting(self-humbling).Fasting,prayer,andpraisearepowerfulinchallenginganddefeatingmarinespirits.

ThevoiceoftheLORDisuponthewaters:theGodofglorythundereth:theLORDisuponmanywaters.(Psa.29:3)

We can release the voice of theLORDupon thewaters.We can prophesyover thewaters.We can blow shofars over thewaters.We can release praiseoverthewaters.

Theseareeffectivewaystobreakthepowersofmarinespirits.MarinespiritswillfleeatGod'srebukeandrunawayatthevoiceofhisthunder(Psa.104:6-7).AsktheLORDtovisitthemwiththunder(Isa.29:6).PrayfortheLORDtobeuponthewaters.

Thefloodshaveliftedup,OLord,thefloodshavelifteduptheirvoice;thefloods lift up theirwaves. The LORD on high ismightier than the noise ofmanywaters,yea,thanthemightywavesofthesea.(Psa.93:3-4)

Thefloodsandthewavesrepresentprideandrebellion.Godismightierandhigher than the floods and waves. God's kingdom rules over all. God willestablishhisauthorityoverthesecretandhiddenmarinekingdom.Godrulestheragingofthesea(Psa.89:9).TheseawascreatedtopraisetheLORD,nottoberuledbydemons(Psa.98:78).Hewillrootoutrebellionfromthewaters.Thereis nopart of creation thatwill remaindefiled.All the earthwill eventuallybepurified.

Hebindeththefloodsfromoverflowing;andthethingthatishidbringeth

heforthtolight.(Job28:11)Godbindeththefloodfromoverflowing.Godhassetaboundaryforthesea.

Overflowingfloodsrepresentbreakingboundaries(rebellion).Marinespiritsareproudandrebellious.Theyseduceandmotivatepeopletosinandengageinactsofrebellion.Thesespiritsliketoremainandoperateinthedark.Godbringsthehiddenthingstolight.

Andtheserpentcastoutofhismouthwaterasafloodafterthewoman,thathemightcausehertobecarriedawayoftheflood.Andtheearthhelpedthewoman,and theearthopenedhermouth,andswallowedup the floodwhichthedragoncastoutofhismouth.(Rev.12:15-16)

The dragon releases a flood against the church. The bible has a lot to sayaboutwatersandfloods.Waterwasmeanttosustainlife,buttheenemyusesitto releasedeath.Marinespirits releasedeathanddestruction.Theearthhelpedthewoman.Theearthwasmadetoworkforus,notagainstus.

ItisimportanttoknowthatGodrulestheseathroughhispower.Herulesthefloods. Although Satan desires to rule every part of God's creation, God hasultimateauthority.Inhishandarethedeepplacesoftheearth(Psa.95:4).Theseaishis,andhemadeit (Psa.95:5).Theonlyrightsatanhas is thatwhichisgiven to him byman.All demons operating in thewatersmust submit to theLordshipofJesus.

Hehathcompassedthewaterswithbounds,untilthedayandnightcometoan end... He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding hesmiteth through the proud.Byhis spirit hehath garnished theheavens; hishandhathformedthecrookedserpent.

(Job26:10,12-13)God smiteth through Rahab (the proud) by his understanding. It takes

understanding to defeat this class of demons. Leviathan is called a crookedserpent (Isa. 27:1). Divideth means to toss violently or suddenly. God hathcompassedthewaterswithbounds.Godshutsuptheseawithdoors(Job38:8).This shows God's authority and power over the marine kingdom and marinespirits.Godisabletobreakthepowerofthesearrogantseamonsters.

...Nowthatheascended,whatisitbutthathealsodescendedfirstintothelowerpartsoftheearth?Hethatdescendedisthesamealsothatascendedupfaraboveallheavens,thathemightfillallthings.(Eph.4:9-10)

Jesusfilledallthingsthroughhisdescentandascent.Jesusdescendedtothelower parts of the earth.Hell is beneath the earth and beneath the seas. Jesusdescendedintohellthathemightfillallthings.Allrealmsarenowsubjecttohispowerandauthority.Thisincludesthedeep.God'sjudgmentsuponsatanandhiskingdomcomethroughthedeathandresurrectionofChrist.

BabylontheGreatsitsuponmanywaters(Rev.17:1).Babylonisresponsiblefor the blood of the saints and the blood of the martyrs (Rev. 17:6). Marinespiritsareresponsibleforthedeathofmanybelieversthroughoutthehistoryofthe church.Marine spirits hate true believers andwill seek to eliminate them.Truebelieversaretheonlyoneswhocanthwartandstoptheirplans.

Revelation records the judgment of the greatwhore that sitteth uponmanywaters.Whoredomincludesidolatry,sexualperversion,andwitchcraft.Babylonis the MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH(Rev.17:5).Thewaters representpeople,multitudes,nations,and tongues.Allnationshavebeenaffectedbymarinespirits.

Babylon controls the souls ofmen (Rev. 18:13).Babylonmakes rich thosethat ship (Rev.18:19).This refers tocommerce.Marine spirits seek tocontrolcommerce and trade. There are many souls that are held captive by marinespirits. Through sorcery all the nations are deceived (Rev. 18:23).This showstheconnectionbetweenBabylon,marinespiritsandwitchcraft.

God pronounces a drought upon Babylon's waters (Jer. 50:38). Babylonrepresentsidolatry.WecancommandthewatersofBabylontodryup.Babyloncannotdrawstrengthfromthe largenumbersofmarinespirits thatsupportherwhenthewatersaredriedup.Thewaters(marinekingdom)aredriedupandthepowers of marine spirits are broken. God will dry up her sea, and make herspringsdry(Jer.51:36).

TheseaiscomeupuponBabylon:sheiscoveredwiththewavesthereof(Jer.51:42).TsunamisareanothermanifestationofGod'sjudgmentuponnationsandregions that haveyielded tomarine spirits.Goduses thewaves to executehisjudgments against idolatry and false religion. Judgments can come upon themarinekingdomandpeoplewhoareincovenantwiththesespirits.

ThebookofGenesishasalottosayaboutthewaters.Therearewatersabovethat are separated from the waters below through a firmament called heaven(Gen.1:6).Goddividedthewatersafterandcreatedtheheavensonthesecondday.Godgatheredthewatersbelowandcalledthemseasonthethirdday.Godcommandedthewaterstobringforthabundantly.Manwasgivendominionoverthefishof theseaandoverthefowlof theair.Manlosthisdominionthroughsin.SatancameintotheearththroughAdam'ssin.Theearthandthewaterswereaffected by the fall. God used the waters to bring judgment upon the worldthrough the flood. The first eight chapters in Genesis speak much about thewaters.

The waters are mentioned again in Exodus chapters 7, 8, 14, and 15. Thewaters are mentioned in connection to judgment upon Egypt, Pharaoh anddeliverance.Thuswatershave a significantplace in the first twobooksof the

Bible. Water is mentioned 396 times in the King James Bible. Waters ismentioned287times.Satanattemptstocontrolthewatersthroughalargegroupof demons called marine spirits. He attempts to control cities and nationsthrough this avenue.Many believers andministers are completely ignorant ofthisrealmofspiritualdarkness.

ThereisnothinghiddenfromGodandhisword.The waters are connected to the underworld. There are large chasms and

trenchesundertheoceans.Therearealsospiritualentitiesthatruletheseregions.God,however, is theLORDofall.He is theLordof thedepthsandrulesandcommandsthedeep.

Deadthingsareformedfromunderthewaters,andtheinhabitantsthereof.Hellisnakedbeforehim,anddestructionhathnocovering.(Job26:5-6)

TheShades tremble beneath the earth; thewaters and their denizens areafraid(Jerusalem)

Before him the primaeval giantswrithe, under the ocean in their prison.(Moffat)

Thedepartedspiritstrembleunderthewatersandtheirinhabitants.NakedisSheolbeforeHimandAbaddonhasnocovering.

ThisscripturenotonlyshowsthatSheolisunderthesea,butnamesoneofitsinhabitants,Abaddon,whoisnakedwithnocoveringbeforetheLord.

The prophetAmos, in describing remote placeswhere a fugitivemay hidefromGod,says:

ThoughtheydigintoSheol...andthoughtheyconcealthemselvesfromMysightonthefloorofthesea,fromthereIwillcommandtheserpentanditwillbitethem.(Amos9:2-3)

ForIknowthattheLORDisgreat,andthatourLORDisaboveallgods.WhatsoevertheLORDpleased,thatdidheinheaven,andinearth,intheseas,andalldeepplaces.(Psa.135:5-6)

GerhardKittelsaysinhisTheologicalDictionaryoftheNewTestament:Sheol-Hadessignifies thedark(Job10:21)"realmof thedead"whichisset

beneath the ocean (26:5), and which consigns indiscriminately (Psa. 89:48)behinditsportals...

Dr.FinisDakesaysinreferencetoJob26:5-6:The place of the departed spirits of giants and ordinary wicked men is

beneath the oceans and under the earth. Dake bases his conclusion on threetranslationsofthispassage:

Moffattranslation:Beforehimtheprimevalgiantswrithe,undertheoceanintheirprison:theunderworldliesopentoHiseyes.

Fentontranslation:TheRephaim,themselves,weredestroyed.Andrestundertheseas.

Thepitandtheunderworldareconnectedtothesea.Theyshallbringtheedowntothepit,andthoushaltdiethedeathsofthem

thatareslaininthemidstoftheseas.(Ezek.28:8)ThegatesorentrancestoSheol-Hadesareunderthesea.Wehaveshownin

previous chapters that the physical and natural disturbances at these gateentrances come from the spiritual warfare being waged there for the souls ofhumanity.(TheBibleandtheBermudaTriangle)

MarinespiritsareconnectedtoSheol-Hadeswhichliesunderthesea.Marinespiritsareconnectedtohell.Thesespiritsareanimportantandoverlookedpartof satan's kingdom.Thatwhich is hiddenunder thewaters is not hidden fromGod(Heb.4:13).

Jonahwasswallowedbyagreatfishandtakentothedepthsofthesea(Jonah1:17).He called this place thebelly of hell (Jonah2:2).Hewent down to thebottoms of the mountains (there are mountains under the sea). God broughtJonahup from thepit (corruption—Jonah2:6). Jesusused this to illustratehisdescentintohell(Matt.12:40).

God knows what is in the deep. He breaks up the depths through hisknowledge (Prov. 3:20). The deepest parts of the earth are the Puerto RicanTrench and the Mariana Trench. The Puerto Rican Trench lies under theBermudaorDevil'striangleat27,500feetandtheMarianaTrenchliesundertheDevil'sSeaofftheIslandofGuamat36,198feet.Thedeepplacesoftheearthare inGod's hand (Psa. 95:4). Huge canyons continue out under the ocean atmouths of the Hudson, Delaware, St. Lawrence and Congo rivers.Geographicallyspeaking,thegatestoSheolwiththeshortestcorridorstoinnerearthwouldbeundertheseas,particularlyatitsgreatestdepths.

Hast thouentered into thespringsof thesea?Orhast thouwalked in thesearchofthedepth?(Job38:16)

Godsearchesthedepth.Wecanaskhimtosearchoutanywickednessinthedepths.Godsetsacompassuponthefaceofthedepth(Prov.8:27).Thedepthshavevoicesandcalluntootherdepthsthroughseagoingtornadoes(waterspouts—Psa.42:7).Thingsareheardinthedeep.ThedeephearsthevoiceofGod(Isa.44:27). The waterspout connects the heavens to the deep. The deep utters itsvoice(Hab.3:10).Therearemanywondersinthedeep(Psa.107:24).Thereareblessingsfromthedeep(Gen.49:25).TheLORDdoeshispleasureinthedeep(Psa.135:6).ThedeepsarecommandedtopraiseGod(Psa.148:7).Godcreated

thedeepanditisunderhisdominion.Those who controlled the seas controlled the world. The Portuguese, the

Spanish,andtheEnglishallhadgreatfleetsandbuiltgreatempires.TheUnitedStatesandRussiawereatonetimelockedinabattleforsupremacyoftheseasthrough nuclear submarines. These nations even named their submarinesaccording todifferentclasses suchas "Poseidon"and"Polaris".Satanalsohassea patrols named in the Bible. They are Leviathan and Rahab. Rahab hashelpers (Job9:13).These are spiritual entities thatworkunder him.LeviathanandRahabareproudentities.ThefirsttwomentionsofLeviathanarefoundinJob3:8.RahabislistedforthefirsttwotimesinJob9:13andJob26:12.Thesetwo rulers are high in satan's kingdom and they are bothmarine spirits. throughtheproud.(Rahab—Job26:12).Thourulesttheragingofthesea:whenthewavesthereofarise,thoustillest

them.ThouhastbrokenRahabinpieces,asonethatisslain;thouhastscattered

thineenemieswiththystrongarm.(Psa.89:9-10)RahabisidentifiedwithEgypt.Pharaohwasdestroyedintheredsea,thereby

crushingtheevilentityoverthosewaters.PharaohandtheEgyptianswereunderthe control ofmarine spirits.GodhardenedPharaoh's heart.Marine spirits areveryobstinateandproud. It tooka supernaturalmiracleanointing tobreak thepowerofEgypt.TheNileturnedintoblood.ThiswasGod'sjudgmentuponthewaters that supportedPharaohandEgypt. Israelwas saved throughwater, andPharaohwasdestroyedinwater(Isa.51:10).

Speak,andsay,ThussaiththeLordGod;Behold,Iamagainstthee,PharaohkingofEgypt,thegreatdragonthatliethinthe

midstofhisrivers,whichhathsaid,Myriverismineown,andIhavemadeitformyself.(Ezek.29:3).

PharaohandEgyptisconnectedtowaterandrivers.Pharaohisasymbolofbondage and control. He was proud and arrogant. Pharaoh and Egypt werecontrolledbymarinespirits.ThesespiritscontrolledPharaohandEgypt toput

Israel in bondage. God's deliverance of Israel came through breaking Rahab'spower and drowning Pharaoh in the red sea. We see again the connectionbetweensalvation(deliverance)andbreakingthepowerofmarinespirits.Greatrevival and salvation will come to regions that experience deliverance frommarinespirits.

WhywouldGodpassthroughtheseainjudgment?Whywouldhesmitethewaves and dry up the deeps? Is there something in the seas andwaves he isangrywith?Godhaspromised tosmite leviathan in thesea(Isa.27:1).Godisangrywiththeseentitiesoperatingfromthewatersandhewilljudgethem.

Theseproud entitiesmust bow to the power ofGod.We can releaseGod'sjudgmentandangeragainst them.These scriptures show thereareentities thatworkfromwater.Thesemarinespiritshaveoperatedforgenerations.Theirworkisamysterytomany,butthewordofGodexposesthem.

Hurricanes which are spawned in the Bermuda Triangle, are caused byspiritual warfare between the forces of evil and good. One of satan's rulers,Leviathan,issaidtomake"thedepthsboillikeapot"and"thesealikeajarofointment"(thatisshakenupandfoaming)(Job41:31).

WastheLORDdispleasedagainsttherivers?Wasthineangeragainsttherivers?Wasthywrathagainst thesea, that thoudidstrideuponthinehorsesand thy chariots of salvation? ...Thouwentest forth for the salvationof thypeople,evenforsalvationwiththineanointed;thouwoundesttheheadoutofthehouseofthewicked,bydiscoveringthefoundationuntotheneck...Thoudidstwalkthroughtheseawiththinehorses,throughtheheapofgreatwaters.(Hab.3:8,

13,15)God treads upon the waves of the sea. We can tread upon serpents and

scorpions.We can also tread upon sea serpents and over all the power of theenemy.Wecantramplethedragonsunderfoot(Psa.91:13).

Whichalonespreadethouttheheavens,andtreadethuponthewavesofthesea.(Job9:8)

And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thyproudwavesbestayed?

(Job38:11)CouldthisbeareferencetoproudentitiesbeingtreaduponandcontrolledbyGod?The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the

depthsalsoweretroubled.(Psalm77:16).

ThedeeptremblesatGod'spresence.For God is my King of old, working salvation in themidst of the earth.

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of thedragons in the waters. Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, andgavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. Thou didstcleavethefountainandtheflood:thoudriestupmightyrivers.(Psa.74:12-15)

Noticethatsalvationcomesasaresultofbreakingthepowersofthemarinespirit (leviathan).Many cities are influenced and controlled bymarine spirits.Whenthesespiritsarechallenged,bound,andjudged,greatsalvationwilloccur.Their main assignment is to keep multitudes from receiving salvation. Manycoastalcitiesarestrongholdsofcrime,drugs,perversion,pride,andrebellion.

Art thoubetter thanpopulousNo, thatwas situateamong the rivers, thathadthewatersroundabout it,whoserampartwas thesea,andherwallwasfromthesea?(Nahum3:8)

Satanattemptstobuildstrongholdsinthesea.Nowassuchacity.Thisistheancient Egyptian city of Thebes. It was considered impenetrable, but Goddestroyedit.Tyruswasanotherstrongholdinthesea(Zech.9:3).Ancientcitieswerebuiltsurroundedbyriversorthesea.Thismadeitdifficulttoattackthem.

Nineveh and Babylon were situated along the Tigris and Euphrates riversrespectively.TherearefourevilangelsboundintheriverEuphrates(Rev.9:14).Wrath is poured upon the river Euphrates (Rev. 16:12). The Euphrates is theriver that supportsBabylon.Darius theMede conqueredBabylonbydivertingtheriverandenteringthroughthegatesintheriver.

TheIslandsSinguntotheLORDanewsong,andhispraisefromtheendoftheearth,

yethatgodowntothesea,andallthatistherein;theisles,andtheinhabitantsthereof.(Isa.42:10)

TheislandshaveaspecialplaceintheheartofGod.Marinespiritsarestronginislandnations.Thisisobviousbecauseislandsaresurroundedbywater.Manyancientislandersworshippedseagods.Theislandersenteredintocovenantswithmarine spirits giving these demons legal access to control the islands. Manyisland chains have strong witchcraft roots that need to be destroyed to seerevival. Large island chains such as the West Indies, Indonesia, and thePhilippineshavestrongmarineinfluences.

Theislandsarecommandedtopraise(Isa.42:12).PraisefromtheislandsisatestimonyofGod'sgraceandpower.Godwilluse thechurch in the islands tohelpbreak leviathan'spower.Praisewillbeaweapontodiscomfitanddestroytheholdofmarinespirits.Thenewsongneedstobereleased.

Chapter2

GodJudgestheWatersAnd the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of

waters;andtheybecameblood.AndIheardtheangelofthewaterssay,Thouartrighteous,OLord,which

art,andwast,andshaltbe,becausethouhastjudgedthus.(Rev.16:4-5)And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven,

burning as itwere a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, anduponthefountainsofwaters;AndthenameofthestariscalledWormwood:andthethirdpartofthewatersbecamewormwood;andmanymendiedofthewaters,becausetheyweremadebitter.(Rev.8:10-11)

TheApocalypse(Revelation)revealsGod'sjudgmentsonthewaters.Thereisanangelof thewaters.Godhasangelsthatareassignedtothewaters.WecanasktheLordtoreleasetheseangelstopourjudgmentsuponthemarinekingdomofdarkness.WhydoesGod judge thewaters?Whatevil entitiesandactivitiescausejudgmenttocomeuponthewaters?

The book of Revelation shows us the advance and final victory of theKingdomofGod.Jesuscametoannounceandpreachthekingdom.Thiswasanannouncement of the end for satan and his kingdom. The kingdom has beenadvancingsinceJesusannouncedit.Thiskingdomwillsubdueandjudgeeveryrealmofsatan'skingdom,includingthewaters.

ThetwoprophetsinRevelationhavepoweroverthewaterstoturnthemintoblood (Rev. 11:6). Moses turned the river into blood. This was a judgmentagainstEgypt and theirwater gods.The judgment on thewaters is a result ofidolatryconnectedtothewaters.

DagonandthePhilistinesWoeuntotheinhabitantsoftheseacoast...(Zeph.2:5)How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given a charge against

Ashkelon,andagainsttheseashore?Therehathheappointedit(Jer.47:7)AndwhenthemenofAshdodsawthatitwasso,theysaid,Thearkofthe

GodofIsraelshallnotabidewithus:forhishandissoreuponus,anduponDagonourgod.(1Sam.5:7)

The Philistines were the perpetual enemies of Israel. They were a coastalpeopleandworshippedDagon.Dagonwasafishgod.ThetempleofDagonwasinAshdod.Ashdodmeans ravager. The Philistineswere controlled bymarinespiritsoperatingunderDagon.

IsraelhadmanybattleswiththePhilistines.SamsonwasraiseduptodeliverIsraelfromthePhilistines.DavidhadseveralbattleswiththePhilistines.Goliathand his brothers were giant Philistines. Giants came from the union of fallenangels and women. The earth was destroyed by water once because of thesegiants.This showshowmarine spiritswill attempt to corrupt and contaminatemen.

The Philistines represent our warfare against marine spirits. Apostles andleadersofchurches inareasofwaterneed tounderstand the threat.WeneedaDavidic,warfare anointing to defeat these spirits. There are toomany leaderswhoareunawareofthethreat.MaytheLordgiveuswisdomtodefeateveryfishgodandseaserpent.

JezebelofZidon(Sidon)Anditcametopass,as if ithadbeena light thingforhimtowalk in the

sinsofJeroboamthesonofNebat,thathetooktowifeJezebelthedaughterofEthbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshippedhim.(1Kings16:31)

Yea,andwhathaveyetodowithme,OTyre,andZidon,andallthecoastsof Palestine? Will ye render me a recompense? And if ye recompense me,swiftlyandspeedilywillIreturnyourrecompenseuponyourownhead.(Joel3:4).

JezebelwasthedaughterofEthbaal,thekingoftheZidonians.Zidonwasaport city of the sea. Zidon is a part of the ancient Phoenician empire. ThePhoenicians were a seafaring people. Zidon was a city controlled by marinespirits.ZidonwasthefirstbornofCanaan(1Chron.1:13).

Jezebel brought theworship ofBaal into Israel. Jezebel broughtwhoredom(idolatry) and witchcraft to another level. Jezebel was possessed by marinespirits. Marine spirits promote idolatry (modern day pornography) andwitchcraft.Pornographydealswithimages(idolatry).

Tyrus(Tyre)Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the LORD GOD;

Becausethineheartisliftedup,andthouhastsaid,IamGod,IsitintheseatofGod,inthemidstoftheseas;yetthouartaman,andnotGod,thoughthouset thineheart as theheart ofGod: (Ezek. 28:2) Ezekiel chapters 27 and 28pronounce judgmentuponTyrus.Tyruswasacity locatedon thecoast,whichdrewitsstrengthfromthesea.ThemerchantsofTyruswereknownthroughoutthe ancient world. Tyrus had tremendous influence through its wealth andpower.Tyruswasanexceedinglyproudcitybecauseofitsriches(Ezek.28:5).

Thenalltheprincesoftheseashallcomedownfromtheirthrones,andlayaway their robes, and put off their broidered garments: they shall clothethemselveswithtrembling;theyshallsitupontheground,andshalltrembleateverymoment, and be astonished at thee ... For thus saith the LORDGod;WhenIshallmaketheeadesolatecity, like thecities thatarenot inhabited;whenIshallbringupthedeepuponthee,andgreatwatersshallcoverthee;When I shall bring thee downwith them that descend into the pit, with thepeopleofold time,andshall set thee in the lowpartsof theearth, inplacesdesolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou may not beinhabited,...(Ezek.26:16,19-20).

Tyruswasacityofmerchandiseandviolence(Ezek.28:16).Tyruswasfilledwithiniquityandtraffick(Ezek.28:18).GodpronouncesawordtoZidonafterTyrus (Ezek. 28:21). These were both coastal cities that were controlled bymarinespirits.ThekingofTyruswastheanointedcherub(Ezek.28:13).ThisisanobviousreferencetoLucifer.

ThejudgmentuponTyruswouldcausetheprincesoftheseatocomedownfromtheirthrones.Couldthisbeareferencetomarinespiritswhohavethronesinthesea?

Chapter3

JesusComestotheSeaCoastThe landofZabulon,and the landofNephthalim,by thewayof the sea,

beyondJordan,GalileeoftheGentiles;Thepeoplewhichsatindarknesssawgreatlight;andtothemwhichsatintheregionandshadowofdeathlightissprungup.(Matthew4:15-16)

This was a fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy. Jesus came to the region ofZebulon and Naphtali. The people in that region were in great darkness andaffliction.ZebulonwastobeahavenofshipsandtoborderZidon(Gen.49:13).Zebulonwas to suck the abundance of the seas and treasures hid in the sand(Deut.33:19).

TheseawascreatedbyGodtobeablessing.ThelandofZebulonhadnowcome under a curse. This is because the people of God did not obey andeventually went into bondage. This area had become a stronghold of marinespirits.Jesusgoesintothisstrongholdandbeginstocastoutdevilsandhealthesick. Jesus rebuked thewinds on the sea and camewalking on the sea. Jesusdemonstrated theauthorityof thekingdomofGodover the seaand the spiritsthatattempttocontrolthesea.

Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea on his way to the country of theGadarenes (Mark4:39-5:1). Itwashere that Jesusdelivered thedemoniac thatwaspossessedbyLegion.Thedemonsenteredtheswineafterleavingtheman.The swine then ran down a steep place andwere choked in the sea.Why didthesedemonsrunintothesea?Werethespiritsinthismanconnectedtothesea?WhydidJesusandhisdisciplesencounterastormontheirwaytoGadara?

JesusalsoministeredinthebordersofTyreandSidon(Mark7:24).Therehemet a Syrophenician woman requesting deliverance for her daughter (Mark7:26).Thewoman's daughterwasdelivered throughher faith.Theministry ofChrist came into the coastal regions. Hisministrywas a direct assault on thespiritsthatcontrolledtheseregions.Deliveranceministryisanimportantpartofroutingthemarinekingdom.

Jeremiah chapter 47 pronounces judgments upon the Philistines, Tyrus andZidon. These are all areas controlled bymarine spirits. The bible uttersmany

judgmentsagainstthesekingdoms.ThesekingdomswereenemiesofIsraelandthe purpose ofGod.Theywere controlled andmotivated by evil spirits.Theywerekingdomsofpride,greed,rebellion,andwitchcraft.

RiversandBasinsThatsaithtothedeep,Bedry,andIwilldryuptherivers.(Isa.44:27)Therearespiritualriversjustastherearenaturalrivers.Thereistheriverof

God thatbringsblessing,healing,and joy.Ariver isa flowingbodyofwater.Demonicriverscausedeathanddestructiontoflowintoacityorregion.Wecancommand these rivers todryupandstop the flowofwickedness fromcomingintoaregion.

Is there a flow of witchcraft, sin, and perversion coming into a region? Isthere a flow of drugs and people that bring wickedness? Look at the naturalrivers in a region. Are these rivers being used by marine spirits to releasespiritual rivers of uncleanness and wickedness? Is there a spiritual river thatcorrespondstoanaturalriver?Whatisflowinginandoutofaregion?

Riversfeedlakesandseas.Largebodiesofwaterarefedbyriversandriverbasins.Theriver flows intoabasin.Basinsaredeeper thanrivers.This isalsotrue spiritually. Spiritual rivers will form a spiritual basin. A basin can holdrighteousnessorwickedness.Abasinisalargeconcentration.Marinespiritswillattempttomakearegionaspiritualbasinofwickedness.Goddriesupriversandbasins.Wecommanduncleanriversandbasinstodryup.

...Ismyhandshortenedatall,thatitcannotredeem?OrhaveInopowertodeliver?Behold,atmyrebukeIdryupthesea,Imaketheriversawilderness:theirfishstinketh,becausethereisnowater,anddiethforthirst.(Isa.50:2)

Whatconnectionistherebetweenredemption,deliverance,andsalvationwithdryingup seas and rivers?Could this be a reference tobreaking thepowerofmarine spirits that control anddestroymen?Marine spiritsdraw their strengthfromthewaters.Whenwatersaredrieduptheirpowerisbroken.Thebibleisaspiritual book and much of the terminology is spiritual. The Holy Spirit willunlockitssecretsandmysteriestous.

Thegatesof theriversshallbeopened,and thepalaceshallbedissolved.(Nahum2:6)

Ancient rivers hadgates.Thegates serve to protect the city from invasion.Theriverwasanaccesspointintothecity.TheJordanriverhadtobeopenedinorder to cross over. Rivers provide boundaries and can limit access.We cancommand the gates to be opened and the palaces dissolved. Emmanuel KuregaveatestimonyofhowthishappenedinNigeria.Hewassenttodestroyarivershrine. After crossing the river, he commanded the palaces in the river to bedissolved.Kure states, "Thosewhohavedealtwith seademonsoftenmentionthe queen of the sea, the queen of the coast. The demons are said to have a

palace in the sea, command thegate of that river to open, and the palacewilldissolve. After you have dissolved the palace in the sea, command the sevenheadsofleviathantobebroken."

Apalaceisacastleorcitadel.Itisaplaceofsafetyfortheprinceorking.Itisusuallyanelevatedplaceofprotection.Weneedtoariseanddestroythepalacesintheseaandtherivers(Jer.6:5).Weneedtocommandthemtobedissolved,andcommandallthestrongholdsinthewaterstobedissolved.

Speak, and say, Thus saith the LORDGOD, Behold, I am against thee,PharaohkingofEgypt,thegreatdragonthatliethinthemidstofthyrivers,...andall thefishofthyriversshallstickuntothyscales...Behold,thereforeIamagainstthee,andagainstthyrivers.(Ezek.29:3-4,10)

Ancientrivershavemanyceremoniesperformedoverthembyidolatersandwitches. These rivers are contaminated. Many rivers have been dedicated todemons.GodwasagainstPharaohandhis rivers. Judgmentwas releasedupontheentirefishkingdom.

Pharaohiscalledthegreatdragonthatliethintherivers.TheNileriveristhelongest in the world and one of the most spiritually contaminated. God haspromisedtojudgethesestrongholdsofthemarinekingdom.

FlyingFishandBirdsthatSwimAndGodsaid,Let thewatersbring forthabundantly themovingcreature

thathathlife,andfowlthatmayflyabovetheearthintheopenfirmamentofheaven.(Gen.1:20)

Much spiritual warfare has been done concerning spiritual wickedness thatresidesintheheavens.Satanistheprinceofthepoweroftheair(Eph.2:2).Themarinekingdomhasoftenbeenignored.Thereisaconnectionbetweenthetworealms. The marine kingdom lends strength and support to the heavenlykingdom.Marinespiritsareveryhighrankinginsatan'soverallkingdom.

Birds fly in theheavens.Someevil spirits are representedbyuncleanbirdsthat fly. There is a connection between birds and water. The kingdoms ofdarkness in theheavensareconnected to themarinekingdom.ThewatersandbirdsarementionedinthesameverseinGenesis.Somebirdsliveinwater(storkand heron, both unclean birds—Deut. 14:18). There are flying fish and birdsthatswim.

Birdsdependuponwaters to live andmigrate.Birdmigrations follow riverandwater courses.Major courses are calledwetlands.These are placeswherebirds migrate and reproduce. This natural illustration shows a connectionbetweentheheavenlykingdomandthemarinekingdom.

Thoumadesthimtohavedominionovertheworksofthyhands;thouhastputallthingsunderhisfeet:...

Thefowloftheair,andthefishofthesea,andwhatsoeverpasseththroughthepathoftheseas.(Psa.

8:6,8)Manwas created to have dominion over creation.We have authority over

bothof theses realms.Believersneed toexercise thisauthority throughprayer.We must cover the waters with prayer. We must engage in spiritual warfareagainstthebranchofsatan'skingdomcalledthemarinekingdom.

PrayerNetsThus saith theLORDGOD; Iwill therefore spread outmynet over thee

withacompanyofmanypeople;andtheyshallbringtheeupinmynet.(Ezek.32:3)

ThiswasthewordoftheLORDagainstPharaoh,kingofEgypt.Heiscalledawhale in theseas that troubled thewaters(Ezek.32:3).Netsareused to trapandcatchseacreatures.Godwoulduseanettodrawhimoutanddestroyhim.Prayeracts likeanetagainstmarinespirits.Thelevelofprayerwilldeterminethestrengthofthenet.Prayernetworksareneededtostoptheoperationofthesespirits.Churchesmustcast thenetover themandstop themfromcarryingouttheirdestructiveplans.

Know thatGodhasoverthrownme,andhathcompassedmewithhisnet.(Job19:6)

Prayernetsneedtobespreadoverentireregionsandcitiesthatarecontrolledand affected bymarine spirits. Pray that these spirits will be overthrown andcompassed with God's net. The greater the operation of marine spirits, thegreaterthenetneeded.Citiesandnationsaroundlargebodiesofwaterandriversneed to increase their understanding of marine spirits and spiritual warfarethroughprayer.

DeliverancefromMarineSpiritsMarine spirits are verywicked andGod has a special hatred for them.He

desires to deliver thosewho are controlled by these spirits.Water,which is asymboloflife,isturnedintodeaththroughtheoperationofthesespirits.Peopleundertheinfluenceofthesespiritsfeelasiftheyaredrowninginmanywaters.

Therearemanyscriptures that refer todeliverance fromwaters, floods,anddepths.Thesescripturescanbeusedincastingoutmarinespirits.Wecanloosepeoplefromthepowersoftheseaanddelivertheirsoulsfromthedepthsofthesea.ItisessentialtoreleasethewordoftheLordagainstthesespirits.

Peopleboundbyperversion,pride,lust,andwitchcraftareoftencontrolledbymarinespirits.Severalltieswiththemarinekingdomandcommandthespiritsto come out. Release the judgments written against them and release thecaptives. Break any covenants with the marine kingdom made by ancestors.Breakthecursesofprideandwitchcraftcommonwithmarinespirits.Severalltieswith leviathan, rahab,andBabylon.Release theswordof theLordagainstthemandcommandallevilwaterstodryup.

Fasting is another powerful tool against marine spirits. Marine spirits arestrong and some will only be defeated through fasting. Marine spirits are adifferentkindofdemon.Therearemultitudesof these spiritsconnected to thewaters. They affect people on the land. There are many people possessed bymarinespirits.ThedemonthatJesusreferredtoconcerningfastingwouldthrowtheyoungchildintothefireandintothewater(Matt.17:21).

Yea,hesentouthisarrows,andscatteredthem;andheshotoutlightnings,anddiscomfitedthem.

Thenthechannelsofwaterswereseen,andthefoundationsof theworldwere discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thynostrils.Hesentfromabove,hetookme,hedrewmeoutofmanywaters.Hedeliveredmefrommystrongenemy,andfromthemwhichhatedme:fortheyweretostrongforme.(Psa.18:14-17)

Saveme,OGod; for thewatersarecome inuntomysoul. I sink indeepmire,wherethereisnostanding:Iamcomeintodeepwaters,wherethefloodsoverflowme.(Psa.69:1-2)

Castforthlightning,andscatterthem:shootoutthinearrows,anddestroythem.Sendthinehandfromabove;ridme,anddelivermeoutofgreatwaters,fromthehandofstrangechildren.(Psa.144:6-7)

Thentheproudwatershadoverwhelmedus,thestreamhadgoneoveroursoul:Thentheproudwatershadgoneoveroursoul.(Psa.124:4-5)

OutofthedepthshaveIcrieduntothee,OLORD.(Psa.130:1)Thefloodshaveliftedup,OLORD,thefloodshavelifteduptheirvoice;the

floods lift up theirwaves. The LORD on high ismightier than the noise ofmanywaters,yea,thanthemightywavesofthesea.(Psa.93:3-4)

Chapter4

Leviathan,TheKingofPrideInthe41stchapterofJob,theLordappearstoJobinawhirlingandbeginsto

questionhimconcerningacreatureknownasLeviathan.AlthoughIhadreadthebookof Jobnumerous times, Ihadnounderstandingofwho thiscreaturewasuntilIcameintotheministryofDeliverance.

I then realized thatLeviathanwasa spirit representedby thecrocodileor alarge serpent. In Isaiah, chapter 27, he is called the "crooked serpent", the"piercingserpent",the"dragon"thatliethinthemidstofthesea.InJob41:34,heiscalled"akingoverallthechildrenofpride."

Afterbeingintheministryofdeliveranceforsometime,webegantoseethatoneof themostdifficult spirits todefeatwas thespiritofPride.Somepeopleneverseemtoovercomethisspiritandeventuallyendupfalling.WecandefeatPride, but not in our natural strength. Only the Lord can draw him out anddestroyhim.

TheLordhasgraciouslygivenusarevelationofLeviathanandhischaracteristics.Wearenowabletoidentifyhim,falloutofagreementwithhim,

andreceivedeliverance.WiththehelpoftheLord,wecanbindhimandcasthimout.

Hebeholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.(Job 41:34) There are five references to Leviathan in theWord of God. Themost extensive reference is found in the book of Job, Chapter 41. The otherreferences include Job 3:8, Psalm 74:14, Psalm 104:25-26 and Isaiah 27:1.Remember,Leviathanisreferredtoasakingoverallthechildrenofpride(Job41:34).WehaveencounteredthisspiritquiteofteninDeliverance.

Man'sInabilitytoDrawOutandConquerLeviathanOrLeviathan,wiltthoufindahookthatwilldrawhimtoland,alinethat

willholdhistonguefast.(Job41:1KnoxTranslation)In the first seven verses of Job, chapter 41, the Lord asks Job fourteen

questionsconcerningLeviathan.Thesequestionsrevealman'sinabilitytodrawoutandconquerhim.

The first question implies that there is no hookor line that is able to drawLeviathanoutofthedeeptoland.NotonlydoesLeviathanliveinthedepths,butheissostrongandpowerfulastobreakanylineorhookthatmanwouldusetosnare him and draw him out. The American Translation calls him "thecrocodile".TheSeptuagintcallshim"adragon".

TheSeptuagint translationsays,"Orcanst thou fastenaring inhis snout?"Thesnout is thenosearewhereringswereoftenfastened incapturedanimals.Thisgavemantheabilitytoleadandcontrolthecapturedanimal.

TheBerkeley translation says,"Canyouputa rush line throughhisgills?"Thisisthepictureofhookingorsnaggingafishtobringittoshore.

TheSpurreltranslationsays,"Orpuncturehischeekthroughwiththebarb?"Onceafish'scheek,gillsortongueispuncturedwithafishhook,itisdifficultforthefishtoescape.Thoughthefishfights,itisdifficulttobreakfree.

However,thismethodwillnotbesuccessfulwithLeviathan.Youcannotsnagandholdhimasyoudootherseacreatures.HeisdepictedinScriptureasalargesea serpent or sea monster. Man has been successful in conquering even thelargest of sea creatures. Even the largest known toman, the whale, has beenconquered.Yet,Leviathancannotbeconqueredthroughtheskillofmen.Prideisanawesomefoethatcannotbeconqueredbynaturalmeans.

Willhemakemanysupplicationsuntothee?willhespeaksoftwordsuntothee?(Job41:3)This is a picture of a defeated foe pleading or making entreaties to his

vanquisher.Often, conquered nations or kingswould entreat their conquerors.Toentreatmeans"topleadwith,especially inorder topersuade, tonegotiate."

Theenemyonceconqueredwillattempttospeaksoftwords,orflatteringwords.TheTaylor translation says "Will he beg you to desist or try to flatter you

fromyourintentions?"TheanswerinLeviathan'scaseis,"NO!"Heisaproudandstubborndemonthatrarelyhastospeaksoftwords."The

poor useth entreaties; but the rich answereth roughly" (Proverbs 18:23). TheLamsatranslationofthisversereads:"Thepoorspeakhumblybuttherichtalkofgreatthings."

Therichman,inhispride,answersharshly.Apoorman,inhishumbledstate,pleadsandmakessupplication.Leviathanrepresentspride.Hewillnothumblehimselfandmakesupplication.Supplication isalsoaformofprayer.Wehavefound that the spirit of Leviathan hinders prayer. Peoplewho have a difficulttime praying are often battling Leviathan.Many times people become sleepywhenattemptingtopray.ThisisacommonmanifestationofLeviathan.

Proudpeopledon'tsenseaneedtopray.Oneofthemanifestationsofprideisnot seeking God (Psalms 10:4). Humble people recognize the need to makesupplication.Thosewhoare controlledbyLeviathanwill haveadifficult timemaking supplication. They have a difficult time asking for help. They oftenspeakharshlytoothers.ThetoneofvoiceisanindicationastowhetheroneismanifestingPride.

Willhemakeacovenantwiththee?wiltthoutakehimforaservantforever?(Job41:4)Leviathanwillnotenterintocovenant.Heisanindependentandproudspirit.

Hewill never submit and serve another.He is a king over all the children ofpride.Pridehinderspeople fromentering intoorwalking incovenant. It takeshumilitytoenterintoandwalkincovenant.

A covenant is a mutual agreement between two parties. Marriage is acovenant. It isnot just thewifesubmitting to thehusbandbut the twoof themsubmitting tooneanother in thefearofGod.Wehavefound thatLeviathan isthespiritoperatinginmostmarriages,causingdivorceandseparation,Leviathanwill not make and keep covenant. It is not surprising that so many of God'speopledon'tunderstandandoperate incovenant relationships.Pridewillblindyouandhinderyoufromhonoringcovenant.

PridewillalsoblindapersonfromreceivingandwalkingintheCovenantwehavethroughthebloodofJesus.TheBibleisabookofcovenants.OurGodisacovenant-keepingGod. Salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity, the gifts ofthespirit,miracles,signsandwondersareallpartsoftheNewCovenant.Ittakeshumility to receive and walk in the revelation of our Covenant. It is notsurprising that many believers and some churches reject parts of the NewCovenant.

Somerejecthealing.Somerejectdeliverance.SomerejectthebaptismoftheHolySpiritandHisgifts.IamconvincedthatthespiritofLeviathanhasblockedmany from walking in the fullness of the Covenant we have through JesusChrist.Therearedifferenttypesofpride,andoneofthemisReligiousPride.

Religious pride says, "My church (or my denomination) has all the truth."Religiouspridesays,"Itcouldn'tbeGodifwedon'tpracticeorbelieveit."

TheseattitudesarenothingbutmanifestationsofLeviathan.If a believer or a churchhas a problemwalking in the fullnessof theNew

Covenant,checkforLeviathan.ThenextquestiontheLordasksJobconcerningLeviathanis,"Willthoutake

himforaservantforever?"TheMoffattranslationsays,"Willhealwaysbeatyourservice?"

It takes humility to serveothers.Pridewill prevent you from submitting toandservinganother.Pridealwayswantstobeontopandincontrol.Pridewantseveryonetosubmittohim.Itdoesnotsurprisemethatsomanypeoplehaveaproblem submitting and serving. The reason being so many people have aproblemwithLeviathan.IfyouhaveaproblemsubmittingandservingthenyouhaveaproblemwithLeviathan.Jesus isourexampleofhumility.HehumbledHimselfandbecameaServant,eventotheextentofwashingHisdisciples'feet.

Wiltthouplaywithhimaswithabird?orwiltthoughbindhimforthymaidens?(Job41:5)Againtheansweris,"NO!"Leviathanisnotapet.Hecannotbetamed.Pets

areanimalsthathavebeendomesticated.Todomesticatemeanstoadapttolifein intimate association with and to the advantage of man. The Jerusalemtranslationsays,"Willyoumakeapetofhim,likeabird,keephimonaleadtoassureyourmarch?"Inotherwords,Leviathanisnotacreaturetoplayaroundwith.

Pride cannot be tamed.Pride is destructive andwill causepain inyour lifeandthelivesofothers.Leviathanwillnotbetakencaptiveforapet.Hewillnotbeboundandtakenintocaptivityandtamed.Leviathanmustbedestroyed,andonlytheLordcandestroyprideinourlives.Wecannotdrawhimout,snarehim,makeacovenantwithhim,playwithhim,orbindhiminourownstrength.Ifwedon'tallowtheLordtodestroyprideinourlives,Leviathanwilldestroyus!

Shallthecompanionsmakeabanquetofhim?shalltheyparthimamongthemerchants?(Job41:6)

TheAmerican Standard translation says, "Will the bands offishermenmaketrafficofhim?"Fishingcanbeaveryprosperousbusiness.Muchfishingisdoneformerchandisingthecatch.NotsowithLeviathan.Youcannotmerchandiseormake traffic of him.This is to say, youwill not profit fromallowingpride to

remain and operate in your life. Pridewill not profit you, itwill only destroyyou.

Another purpose of fishing is to get a meal. Not so with Leviathan. Youcannotmakeabanquetofhimbecauseyoucannotcapturehim.

Canstthoufillhisskinwithbarbedirons?orhisheadwithfishspears?(Job41:7)TheAmplified says"Canyou fill his skinwithharpoons?orhisheadwith

fishingspears?"Aspreviouslystated,manhasbeenable tocatchandconquerthelargestmarineanimalonearth,thewhale.

Whales are captured by using harpoons. A harpoon is a barbed spear orjavelinusedinhuntinglargefishorwhales.Leviathancannotbeharpoonedbyeventhemostskilledharpoonsmen.

Howdesperately we need to depend upon the Lord.We are too weak to fight theenemywithouttheLord'shelp.WemustsubmitandhumbleourselvesundertheLordtoexperiencevictory.

Anotherwaytolookatthisverseis:"Nevergetintostrifeorcontentionwithaproudperson."Pridewillcauseyoutoargue,fight,andbecontentious.Thereisno rest if you findyourself inbattlewith someonecontrolledbyLeviathan.ContentiousandargumentativepeoplearecontrolledbyLeviathan.

Behold,thehopeofhimisinvain:shallnotonebecastdownevenatthesightofhim?(Job41:9)

This verse shows us the futility of trying to defeat andmaster pride in ourown strength.Again, the emphasis isman's inability to draw out and conquerLeviathan.Oncemanrecognizeshisowninability, itwill forcehimtohumblehimself and seek the help of the Lord. Jesus is the only hope we have in

defeatingLeviathan.TheBerkeley translation says, "Themanwho hopes tomaster himwill be

disillusioned." The Taylor translation says, "No, it's useless to try to capturehim." The Basic English translation says, "Truly, the hope of his attacker isfalse..."

Man'shopeofdefeatingLeviathanaloneisafalsehope.OuronlyhopeisintheLord.Youcannotmasterprideinyourownstrength.Youcannotcapturehimwithyourownability.Youcannotattackhimwithcanalweapons.

Chapter5

RousingLeviathanNone is so fierce that dare stirhimup:who then is able to standbefore

me?(Job41:10)The Jerusalem translation says. "When roused. he grows ferocious. no one

canfacehiminafight."Torousemeanstoawakenorstirup.Job3:8talksaboutrousing Leviathan: "Let those curse it who curse the day, who are skilled torouseupLeviathan" (TheRevisedStandardVersion).Thisverseequates thoseskilledenoughtorouseLeviathanwiththosewhoareabletocursetheday.TheNew English Bible says. "Cursed be it by those who magic binds even themonsterofthedeep,whoarereadytotameLeviathanhimselfwithspells."

Ifyoucompare thisversewith Job41:10 ("Noone is fool-hardyenough tostirhimup..."[BerkeleyVersion]).itimpliesthatevenmagicians.withalltheircharms and spells.would not dare to stir up and rouseLeviathan. Even thoseskilledinthewisdomoftheworld—magic.spells.andincantations—wouldnotstirupLeviathan.

The Lord then asks the question: "Who then can stand beforeMe?"WhatHe's saying is ifmancannot stirupanddefeatLeviathan,hedefinitelycannotarrayhimselfagainsttheLordforHeistheonlyonewhocanhumbleLeviathan.

TheBerkeley translationsays:"Who then ishewhocanstandbeforeMe?"Pride will cause a person to stand up against the Lord. This was Pharaoh'sdownfall.Pharaoh'spridecausedhim tohardenhisheartandstandagainst theLord.

InEzekiel 29:3he is called"thegreat dragon that lieth in themidst of hisrivers".TheNewEnglishBiblecallshima"greatmonster,lurkinginthestreamof the Nile. " Ezekiel prophesies against Pharaoh and Egypt. "But I will puthooks in they jaws" (Ezekiel29:4).God isable toputhooks inhismouthandpullhimoutofhisdwellingplace.

Whatmancannotdo inhisownstrength, theLordcando indefeatingandcrushing Leviathan. Leviathan cannot stand in His presence. God will crushpride.

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of thedragonsinthewaters.

Thoubrakesttheheadsofleviathaninpieces,andgavesthimtobemeattothepeopleinhabitingthewilderness.(Psalm74:13-14)

ThisisareferencetotheLorddestroyingPharaohintheRedSea.Theheadrepresents authority. The head of the serpent is his most vulnerable part. Indestroyingaserpentyoualwaysgoforthehead.Theserpent'sheadwasbruisedbytheSeedofthewoman,HisnameisJesus.

The humility of Jesus (His submission to the Father and His death on thecross) isouronlyvictoryoverLeviathan. It is theonlyway tocrushhishead.TheLordresists theproud.Hewillcrushanyonewho isproud.TheLordwillnotallowpridetoresistandstandagainstHimandHispurposes.

The Harrison translation of Psalm 74:14 says, "You crushed the power ofLeviathan."TheLordwillcrushpride'spowerandinfluenceinourlives.

Whohathpreventedme,thatIshouldrepayhim?whatsoeverisunderthewholeheavenismine.(Job41:11)

GodisAlmightyandSelf-sufficient.EveryoneandeverythingbowstoHim,andHebows to no one.Heowes noone anything, and everythingbelongs toHim.TheKnoxtranslationsays,"norcananydeservemythanksbylendingmetheaidIlacked;nothingonearthbutisatmydisposal."

Noone else canmake this claim.No one else can exalt themselves to thisposition. Pride is self-exaltation. Those who exalt themselves are victims ofLeviathan'scontrol.TheyareinrebellionandaretryingtousurpGod'sposition.ThiswasthesinofLucifer,andthereasonforhisfall.Whenweexaltourselves,we are in direct opposition to God.We are setting ourselves in array againstGod.ThisiswhatLeviathancausespeopletodo.

Pride, arrogancy, and haughtiness are all characteristics of Leviathan. Self-exaltation,hardnessofheart,andrebellionarealsomanifestationsofLeviathan.

Iwillnotconcealhisparts,norhispower,norhiscomelyproportion.(Job41:12)

To conceal means to hide. The Lord is giving us a revelation concerningLeviathan.Heisexposinghispartstous.TheBerkeleytranslationsays,"Iwillnotbesilentconcerninghislimbs,hismightystrength,andhisartisticportions."Thenextversesdescribethecharacteristicsofpride.Weneedtoknowthemsowecan identifypride inourown lives.Theseverses identifyhis strength.Wecanthenbetterunderstandwhyheissostrongandinvincibletoattack.

Whocandiscoverthefaceofhisgarments?orwhocancometohimwithhisdoublebridle?(Job

41:13)TheBerkeley translation says, "Who has ever stripped off his thick coat of

mail, or pierced his impenetrable scales?" TheAmerican Standard says "who

can strip off his outer garment?Who shall comewithinhis jaws?"This versespeaksoftwopartsofLeviathan:1)hisoutercoatofmail,and2)hispowerfuljaws.

His thickcoatofskin is referred toas"mail".Mail isarmormadeofmetallinksofplates.Armorisfordefensivepurposes.Jesusstatedthatastrongeronemust come upon the strongman, overcome him, and take away his armor inwhichhe trusts (Luke 11:22).Leviathan is a strongmanwhose armormust bestripped.

TheLordasks,"Whocanstripoffhisarmor?"JesussaysonlyOneWhoisstronger.

Who is stronger thanLeviathan?Sincewe are not, our only hope is in theLordJesus.

Leviathanalsohasstrongjaws.Insometranslations,heisreferredtoas"thecrocodile". Crocodiles are known for their teeth and strong jaws. Strong jawsproduceastronggrip.

AndIbrakethejawsofthewicked,andpluckedthespoiloutofhisteeth.(Job29:17)Breaking the jaws of thewicked is for the purpose of releasing the victim

fromtheenemy'sgrip.TheLordasks,"WhocanenterintoLeviathan'sjaws?"Theansweris:OnlytheLord.TheLordcanenterintobreakhisjawsandreleasehisvictim.Wecanenter

in with the Lord, through deliverance, to break Leviathan's jaws and set thecaptivesfree.

Whocanopenthedoorsofhisface?histeethareterribleroundabout(Job41:14)

TheJerusalemtranslationsays,"Terrordwellsinthoserowsofteeth!"Teethgivetheabilitytogrip.Jawsgivethestrengthtogrip.Leviathan'sgripisstrongbecauseofhisjawsandteeth.TherearereferencesintheWordofGodspeakingoftheLordbreakingtheteethofthewicked.

Arise,OLord;saveme,OmyGod:forthouhastsmittenallmineenemiesuponthecheekbone;thouhasbrokentheteethoftheungodly.(Psalm3:7)

Here isacry fordeliverance.When the teethof thewickedarebroken, theresultisDeliverance.

MyGod,breaktheircruelfangs;Lord,shattertheirjaws,strongasthejawsoflions.(Psalm58:6Knoxtranslation)

The cry for deliverance includes a prayer to shatter the enemy's jaws andteeth. The spirit of Pridewill not be able to hold its victims once their cry isheardandanswered.

Chapter6

StrippingLeviathan'sScalesHisscalesarehispride,shutuptogetheraswithacloseseal.(Job41:15)TheJerusalemtranslationsays,"Hisbackislikeshieldsofcastmetal,scale

pressingonscale."Leviathan'sprideisinhisscales.Thisspirit isproudofhisabilitytowithstandattack.

Prideisabletoshieldhimselfwithotherspirits.ThespiritofLeviathanwilluseotherspiritsasshieldsinordertoprotecthimselffromattack.TheseshielddemonsmustbedealtwithfirstbeforeanattackonLeviathancanbesuccessful.

Some people will not receive deliverance from Leviathan because hiskingdom is so often protected by his scales. Rejection, lust, hurt, insecurity,shame, fear, selfrighteousness and religious spirits are all demons usuallyencountered in deliverancewhichgive a person "reasons" to holdon to pride.Thefollowingisatestimonyfrom

Frank Hammond's, January 1993,Children's Bread Newsletter, in dealingwithLeviathan:"Onedaywhile involved inaground levelwarfare,weencountereda very

obstinate demon. The Holy Spirit revealed him to us as "Leviathan". Job,chapter forty, describes Leviathan as an awesome monster with scales thatcannot be penetrated by any earthly weapon. The scales of the Leviathan wefacedthatdayweremadeupofthelayersofdemonsholdingaparticularpersoninbondage.'The weapons of our warfare are not carnal,' so we had power over

Leviathan.ThebattleplanwastostripawayLeviathan'sscales(the individualdemons)onebyoneuntilthestrongmanLeviathanwasexposedandvulnerable.This illustrateshowbycastingoutweakerspiritswecangain thevictoryoverthestrongerones."

Leviathan'sstrengthcanonlybedestroyedaswestripawaythedemonsthatshieldhim.Heisproudofhisabilitytoprotecthimselfwithhisscales.

Oneissoneartoanother,thatnoaircancomebetweenthem.(Job41:16)Airrepresentsthespirit.ThewordforspiritistheHebrewwordruwach,and

theGreekwordpneumameaningwind,air,orbreath.Breathisessentialforlife.Leviathan'sscalesaresotightlyjoinedthatnoair

can flow. Pride is a spirit thatwill block a person from flowing in the spirit.PeoplewhohaveahardtimeflowinginthegiftsoftheSpiritareoftenbattlingwiththespiritofLeviathan.

Leviathanisarulingspiritovermanyreligiousgroupswhorejectthebaptismof theHoly Spirit andHis gifts.Religious pride is a spirit that tells us, "Youhaveitall.Youdon'tneedanythingelse.Yourdenominationisright,and

everyoneelseiswrong."Theyarejoinedonetoanother,theysticktogether,thattheycannotbesundered.(Job41:17)Leviathan's scales represent groups of demons that link together to protect

him. He is a ruling spirit that has numerous demons under his command.Remember,heisakingoverallthechildrenofpride.TheKnoxtranslationsays,"sowelljoinedthatnothingwillpartthem."Demonslinkupandjointhemselvestogetherforthesinglepurposeofkeepingapersonbound.

Demons draw strength from each other by linking together. Demons willwork in any convenient system to bind an individual by creating not only achain, but also demonic networks. They resist separation and join themselvestightlytogethertoholdtheirvictimsinbondage.

TheBerkeleytranslationsays,"Theyclasponeanother,joinedsocloselythatthey cannot be separated. " Only the Lord can separate and divide them.Wehave the power in the name of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Ghost, toseparateandcastoutLeviathan'sshielddemonstothenbeabletoattackhim.

Leviathan,AFireBreathingDragon?Byhisneesingsalightdothshine,andhiseyesareliketheeyelidsofthe

morning. (Job41:18)TheKnox translationsays,"Lethimbut sneeze, the fireflashesout: lethimopenhiseyes, it is like theglimmerofdawn."This is thepictureofafirebreathingdragon!

Wehavenoknowledgeofsuchacreatureinthenatural.ThisisbecauseJob41isnotreferringtoanaturalcreature.

The Lord is exposing Leviathan, king of pride. There aremany stories inancientloreconcerningfirebreathingdragons.Mythologyreferstothiscreature.I believe these myths and stories are representative of this spiritual being,Leviathan.

Theancientshadcontactwiththespiritrealmandoftenportrayedwhattheyknewthroughtheirliteratureandfolklore.Youmaysay,"PastorEckhardt,that'sridiculous! I don't believe it!"But I didn't believe it either until I encounteredLeviathanindeliveranceandstudiedtheWordofGod.

Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. (Job41:19)TheAmericanBaptisttranslationsays,"Fromhismouthgoflames,andsparksoffireescape."

Adragonwasalegendarymonsterinthefolkloreofmanylands.Itwasoftendescribedashavingawinged, snake-likebodyarmedwith strongclawsandabarbedtail,andspoutingfirefromitsnostrils(NewStandardEncyclopedia).

In some regions, andparticularly in theOrient, thedragonwas regardedaswell-disposedtowardmankind.

AnotherimportantreferencetoLeviathanandfirecanbefoundwhenApostleJames refers to the tongueasa littlemember thatboastethgreat things (James3:5).

Thisisanobviousreferencetopridemanifestingthroughthetongue.Jamesthengoesontosay"howgreatamatteralittlefirekindleth."Thetonguesetsonfirethecourseofnature(James3:6).Leviathancanmanifestthroughthetongueinboasting,lyingandcursing.

Forthesinoftheirmouthandthewordsoftheirlipsletthemevenbetakenin theirPRIDE:and for cursingand lyingwhich they speak. (Psalm59:12)Oneofthesinsofprideiscursingandlying.Boastingisanothermanifestationofpride.Toboastmeanstopuffoneselfupinspeech,tospeakvaingloriously.

Arguing and disputing is another manifestation of pride (1 Timothy 6:4).James said, "the tongue can noman tame" (James 3:8). This could be due toLeviathan'sinfluence,forhecannotbetamed.Weneedaworkofgraceinour

heartsandlipstoovercomepride'smanifestations.Outofhisnostrilsgoeth smoke,asoutofa seethingpotorcaldron. (Job

41:20)A"seethingpot"isaboilingpot.Toseethemeanstochurnorfoamasifboiling. It alsomeans tobe agitated.Toagitatemeans todisturb.Yet anotherdefinition is to execute and trouble in mind or feelings. I believe this is areferencetoanger.

Anger is amanifestationofpride. It is alsoa reference to stirringup strife.Proverbs28:25says:"He that isofaproudheart stirrethupstrife."TheNewEnglishBible translates this verse: "A self-importantman provokes quarrels."Those who are easily given to strife, anger and quarrels are controlled byLeviathan.

Hisbreathkindlethcoals,andaflamegoethoutofhismouth.(Job41:21)Breathrepresentsspirit.Evilspiritscanmanifestthroughthetongue.Jamessaid,alittlemembercankindleagreatfire.Prideinourheartwillmanifestthroughthetongue.

Fromtheabundanceoftheheartthemouthspeaks.ThebreathofLeviathankindlesafire.

Firespreadsanddestroys.Itisoneofthemostdestructiveelementsknowntoman. People controlled by Leviathan will do much damage through theirmouths.Insteadofkindlingcoalswithourtongues,weneedthecoalsfromtheHeavenlyaltartopurgeourlips.

Chapter7

StubbornnessandHardnessofHeartInhisneckremainethstrength,andsorrow is turned into joybeforehim.

(Job41:22)Leviathan's strength is inhisneck.According toPsalm18:40, theLord gives us the necks of our enemies. Joshua and Israel demonstrated theirenemies'defeatbyputtingtheirfeetonthenecksofthekingsofCanaan(Joshua10:24).

A strong neck refers to being stubborn and stiff-necked. Stubbornness andrebellion are twomoremanifestations of pride. Stubbornness is the refusal tochange.Many leaders and churches refuse to changewhen a new flow of theSpiritisbeingreleaseduponthebodyofChrist.ThereisaresistancetochangewhichisnothingbutamanifestationofLeviathan.Accordingto1Samuel15:23,"rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity andidolatry."

Stubbornnesswillcauseaman to reject thewordof theLord.Thiswas thesin of Saul. Many reject present truth being spoken today because ofstubbornness. Change is a part of life. You cannot growwithout change.WemustbeflexibleinordertochangewithGod.TherearealwaysnewthingsbeingbirthedandreleasedintheKingdom.

Israelwasoftenreferredtoasa"stiff-neckedpeople"(Exodus33:3).Stephencalled those who resist the Holy Ghost "stiff-necked and uncircumcised inheart"."ForIknowthyrebellion,andthystiffneck"(Deuteronomy31:27).TheMoffat translation says, "your defiant temper and your stubborn spirit".Stubbornness is refusing to change. It is a refusal to repent and turn from acrookedway."Liftnotupyourhornonhigh:speaknotwithastiffneck"(Psalm75:5).To

liftupthehornmeanstoboast,ortoflauntpower.Itmeanstobearrogantandirreverent.ItmeanstodefyGod(defiance).Thisisassociatedwithastiffneck.

But they obeyednot, neither inclined their ear, butmade their neck stiff,thattheymightnothear,norreceiveinstruction.(Jeremiah17:23)Refusingtohear, anti-submissiveness, and unteachableness are all tied inwith being stiff-necked.TheseareallmanifestationsofprideandLeviathan.

Theflakesofhisflesharejoinedtogether:theyarefirminthemselves;they

cannotbemoved.(Job41:23)TheKnoxtranslationsays,"First-setarethefoldsofhisflesh,unyieldingthoughathunderboltshouldstrikethem."

Another characteristic of this spirit Leviathan is being unyielding andunbending. To yieldmeans to submit by giving away before force, argument,persuasion,orentreaty.

It means to relinquish one's rights. People who are "set in their ways"(unbending andunyielding) arebeing controlledbyLeviathan,who refused toyield.

HardnessofHeartHis heart is as firm as a stone: yea, as hard as a piece of the nether

millstone.(Job41:24)Next,theLordshowsusLeviathan'sheart.Itishardasarock.Thisisareferencetohardnessofheart.Hardnessofheartcausesdivorceandmaritalproblems(Matthew19:8);unbeliefanddoubt(Mark16:14);lackofspiritual perception, spiritual dullness, lack of wisdom and understanding,forgetfulness (Mark 8:17-18); lack of repentance and godly sorrow (Romans2:5);backslidinganddepartingfromGod(Hebrews3:12).TheseareallresultsofLeviathan'sinfluence.

Many believers suffer from the condition of hardness of heart just as thedisciplesdid.Pharaoh,whoisalsoreferredtoas"thegreatdragon",hardenedhisheart and was destroyed in the Red Sea. Hardness of heart prevents us fromwalkinginthefullnessofGod'sblessings.

Leviathanhindersspiritualgrowth.Sleepinesswhiletryingtopray,studytheWord,orevenwhilesittinginaservicearemanifestationsofthespirit.Peoplewho have problems praying or understanding the Word of God are oftencontrolledbyLeviathan.AninabilitytorememberScripturesorrecalltheWordhavealsobeentracedtoLeviathan.Arguingandfightinginmarriages,causingseparationanddivorce,arealsotheworkofLeviathan.

Whenheraisethuphimself,themightyareafraid:byreasonofbreakingstheypurifythemselves.(Job41:25)TheBerkeleytranslationofthisversesays:"When he raises up himself, the mighty are afraid: beside themselves withpanic."This iswhathappenswhenLeviathanmanifests.Oncehe isstirredup,eventhemightyareafraid.Againthisshowsusman's inability tostandbeforeLeviathan. It is the picture of a large seamonster coming from the depths tosurface.

However, God is able to humble and destroy Leviathan when he raiseshimself. This is a picture of self-exaltation and pride. People who manifestLeviathan spirits can be likemonsters to dealwith. It is as if you are dealingwithGodzillahimself!

(For theweapons of ourwarfare arenot carnal....) (2Corinthians 10:4)Theswordofhimthatlayethathimcannothold;thespear,thedart,northehabergeon.(Job41:26)ThenextfourversesalldealwiththeinabilityofnaturalweaponstodefeatLeviathan.Wecannotdefeatpridewithournaturalabilities.Though man has been able to capture even the largest marine animals withnaturalweapons,notsowithLeviathan.Paulsays theweaponsofourwarfarearenotcarnal,butmightythroughGodtothepullingdownofstrongholds.

Pride is a stronghold that can only be pulled down with spiritual weapons.InsteadofanaturalswordwehavetheswordofthespiritwhichisthewordofGod.Thespear,thedart,orjavelinareuselessbecauseofhisthickcoatofmail.Hehasshieldstoprotecthimandisthereforenotvulnerabletoattack.Hisamourcannotbepiercedwithcarnalweapons.

He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. (Job 41:27) TheMoffattranslationsays,"Hetreatsaharpoonlikeastraw."Whales,thelargestcreaturesoftheseaknowntoman,havebeencapturedwithharpoons.

Aharpoon hasalwaysbeenaneffectiveweaponagainst seacreatures. IronandbrassweaponswerethestrongestweaponsofJob'sday.Andyet,eventhestrongestweaponsofmanareuselessagainsthim.

The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him intostubble. (Job 41:28) Although natural arrows cannot make him flee, we canloose thearrow of deliverance against him (2Kings 13:17).We can also askGod to shoot arrows at our spiritual enemies (Psalm 64:7). God's arrows aresharpintheheartsoftheKing'senemies(Psalm45:5).

Dartsarecountedasstubble:he laughethat theshakingofaspear. (Job41:29) We have encountered Leviathan in deliverance many times and havewitnessedthisspiritactuallylaughingattheworkers.Leviathanissoconfidentof his amour and strength that he mocks those that would dare attack him.MockerycanalsobeamanifestationofLeviathan.

Pride'sTrailSharp stones areunderhim:he spreadeth sharp pointed thingsupon the

mire. (Job41:30)TheAmplified sayshisunderparts are like"sharppiecesofbrokenpottery."EvenLeviathan'sunderbellyissharp.Theunderbellyisoneofthemostvulnerableareasfoundinreptiles."Heprintsathreshing-sledgeuponthemud." Leviathan leaves a distinct trailwhen upon land. Pridewill leave atrailwhereveritgoes.

This trail includes hurt, pain, broken marriages, backsliding, shame anddestruction."Pridegoethbeforedestruction,andahaughtyspiritbeforeafall."Destructionfollowsthetrailofpride.

He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot ofointment(Job41:31)Leviathanlivesinthedepths.Prideissodeepinmanitisdifficulttodrawhimoutbecausehelivessodeepwithinus.Boilingrepresentsrestlessness.Humilitybringsnest.Pridecausesrestlessness.

Hemakethapathtoshineafterhim:onewouldthinkthedeeptobehoary.(Job41:32)TheTaylortranslationsays,"Heleavesaslimywakeoffrothbehindhim. One would think the sea were made of frost. " The American Baptisttranslationsays,"Behindhimhemakesaglisteningpath."

Leviathanalsoleavesapathinthesea.WhereverPridegoes,heleavesatrailbehind. Wherever you look you can see a trail of misery, broken lives anddestruction.DonotwalkinthepathofPride.Itisapaththatleadstoshameanddestruction.

Uponearththereisnothislike,whoismadewithoutfear.(Job41:33)TheBerkeleytranslationsays,"Onearththereisnothisequal,acreaturedevoidoffear."Thefactis,althoughLeviathanisrepresentedbyanearthlycreaturesuchasthecrocodileorlargeseaserpent,wearenotdealingwithanearthlycreature.Wearedealingwithaspirit,astrongmaninthekingdomofdarkness.Thereisnocreatureonearththatiscomparabletothisfearlessspirit.

AttackingLeviathanandOtherRelatedSpiritsIfGodwillnotwithdrawhisanger,theproudhelpersdostoopunderhim.

(Job 9:13) He is God and he does not relent; the helpers of Rahab bowbeneathhim.(NewAmericanTranslation)CommandthehelpersofRahab tobowbeneaththeLord.Rahabisaspiritofpride.Thenamemeans"outrageous,violent,tumult,fierce,courageous,proud,vainandinsolent."
