Ann Krinitskyis Director of the Marin Symphony Youth Performance programs, conducts the Marin Symphony’s Family Concerts and the Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra. As Music Director of the Virtuoso Program at San Domenico School, she conducts the award-winning Orchestra da Camera.

A frequent guest conductor with the Honolulu Symphony, she led community and educational concerts on Oahu as well as on tour to the neighbor islands of Hawaii and Kauai. Ann has conducted Ballet Hawaii’s Nutcracker since 2008 and has directed the string orchestra at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival for two summers. In the Bay Area, she has held the posts of Interim Director of Orchestras at Stanford University; Music Director of the Nova Vista Symphony, Palo Alto Philharmonic, the Berkeley Youth and Community Women’s

Orchestras; Conductor of the Acalanes Chamber Orchestra; and Assistant Conductor of the Pacific Mozart Ensemble. She has also served on the faculty at Laney College in Oakland and as Conductor of the Chautauqua Summer Camp Orchestra in western New York. She has guest conducted the Maui Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Chamber Music Hawaii, the Women’s Philharmonic, the Camellia Symphony, the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, the Marin Chamber Orchestra, and the San Francisco Concerto Orchestra.

Mike Martinezis Director of Music at Adeline E. Kent Middle School, Kentfield, Instrumental Conductor at Arrowbear Music Camp, and Vice President of the Marin Music Educators Association. He is also a Wind Coach and Conductor with the Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra, and an arranger, composer and baritone saxophonist with San Francisco based Soul/R&B group, Baby & the Luvies. Mike has a B.M. Music Education degree from San Francisco State University, and graduated with honors.

Lainie Johnstona senior at Tamalpais High School, started playing the violin at

the age of four with the San Francisco Music Studio. This is her first year in the Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra. She is the concertmistress of her high school orchestra and traveled to New York City to compete alongside them in the Heritage Music Festival. They won a gold ranking and she personally was one of seven to achieve the Maestro Award out of 2,000 fellow musicians. Lainie has been dancing at Happy Feet Dance Studio for 15 years, was on the varsity girls’ tennis team for three years at her high school, and has volunteered at the Marine Mammal Center since her sophomore year. After graduation from high school, she plans to attend Occidental College with a major in Biology with an emphasis in Marine Biology.

David Sohnis currently a senior at Sir Francis Drake High School.

He has participated in MSYO for the last five years while serving as an assistant

principal for two years. David has taught violin to over 20 students including this year’s Nancy Scott and Richard Judge Scholarship 1st place winners. Outside of the symphonic genre, David also is involved in Rock band, Jazz band and producing. After high school graduation, David plans to attend Penn State where he will study International Politics.

Jaimme Leea senior at San Marin High School,

has been playing flute since the sixth grade when she saw a performance by a family friend and fell in love with the instrument. She has been playing ever since and studies with Jane Lenoir. Jaimme has been a member of the Marin Symphony Youth Programs for five years, starting in Crescendo and then MSYO. She has participated in her school bands playing not only the flute but also saxophone. Jaimme is also the leader of the Rafael Ensemble, a community service based group that plays at rest homes and various functions. This performance will be her first solo with an orchestra. Jaimme will be attending UCLA next fall and hopes to continue playing the flute and participating in music.
