Homeward Bound of Marin ramped up to make a plethora of pumpkin pies for theupcoming Thanksgiving holidays. More than twenty people volunteered lastSaturday afternoon to help the organization reach its goals. Nine-year oldSebastian Goins who volunteered noted that they were “making pies for thehomeless people” because “they need food.” Although the volunteers were onlyexpected to produce forty pies in total, their zeal for helping those in needprovided the motivational boost to make thirty additional pies. In fact, HomewardBound organizers had to return to the grocery store in order to procure thenecessary ingredients to make the extra pumpkin pies. Adults and families inneed from the Fourth Street Center in San Rafael and the Warner Creek SeniorHousing in Novato will be the benefactors of the volunteers’ prodigious efforts.
