The buffer space on the south facade of the office volume has been designed to provide to workers a quiet and relaxing space, with a foretaste of nature also in a working place in the city center.During winter season, the closable glass panels permit to have an intermediate temperature in the buffer space and the leafless trees allows the low sunbeams to penetrate through the internal skin and light the workspaces. On summer, when the external skin is open, the natural ventilation asport hot hair from the sky garden and the internal concrete projections has been studied to provide total shading for the first facade on the upper storeys, while the trees screen the first level from the hot sun.

The hanging gardens on the south face of the hotel volume needs a continuity of the concrete slabs: this necessity causes an interruption of the insulation of the envelope.A analysis as been conducted to compare the effects on the heat flux of different lenght of foam glass on the slab, both on the inside and the outside of the wall. The results has been then compared with the Embodied Carbons, the Embodied Energy and the Financial Investment of the insulation, to chose the best combination on the base of the payback period of these three indicators.

RE-HIVERenewable Recyclable Reusable

Design of a temporary sustainable

housing for young visitors of 2015

Expo in Milan.

The project is based on hexagonal

unit and the modularity of the

prefabricated components of the

cells: this offers the possibility

to obtain infinite combinations,

a rapidity of assembly and

disassembly and a ease of

transports.

All the chosen materials are from

renewable sources or recyclable.

Design for a new residential area in Caviate, a suburb of the city of Lecco. The quarter has been thought as a group of islands, because of the small spaces between the mountains and the lake. The project developed in detail two blocks of flats of different dimentions, char-acterized by a detached roof and greenhouse volumes.

2007/2008‘Technical Architecture’

Prof. Eng. Marco CagelliProf. Arch. Paolo Bodega

The target was to create a cultural pole in the centre of the city, close to the new university campus, including a public library, a theatre, an university li-brary and all the useful services and shops for the students.

We crated an area based on three levels : -the street level, including all the connections, the shops and the entrances; -the ‘Basement’, the space for meeting and living; -the park, the space to relax, a filter between the centre and the railway;

All the buildings rise as simple prisms from the basement.

2° Place at ‘Debut Competition’

Design of a reception center, based in Merate (Italy), for the natural park ‘Adda Nord’.The small building cover the role of access and hostel to the natural area of the Sartirana lake, including cultural spaces.Being the center insered into the natural area, it has a height of only one storey and it has been detached from the ground.
