Letter from the top...
This is your faithful Mogul editor filling in for our president this month. Michael is having computer problems so I have “volunteered” to take his place this month. He gave me permission to quote him regarding his computer but his descriptive expressions are quite inappropriate for a family publication.
Well the season is winding down but our club is not. There is only one trip left, Steamboat, but there are many activities planned for the warmer months. Several Tours de Fort are in the works, the rodeo on April 14, a meet-greet-eat at the Michiana Wine Festival, the luau at Lake Hamilton, and a new activity, Margarita Monday. Keep watching your Mogul for dates.
Here’s hoping Michael’s computer recovers soon so we can enjoy his wit and humor again.

Last month a small group of dedicated FWSC skiers headed north for a mid week
trip to Caberfae Peaks. The snow was great and temperatures were perfect. Some of us went up on Tuesday and came home on Wednesday while others came up Wednesday and went home on Thursday. Either way everyone enjoyed the wonderful conditions, great food, and a good soak in the hot tub. Caberfae may not be the biggest resort in Michigan but it certainly ranks as one of the best and we are all looking to continuing this new tradition next winter.

Toucan Snow Adventure 10
Our participants were fewer this year. But all aboard radiated good cheer. We lost Lyle in the Fall. He was missed by us all. To his memory we lifted some beers.
Yes, Lyle Reiff missed his first Toucan trip; he made all nine of the previous adventures. I’m sure he was wishing us “Happy cruising” from Heaven! A hardy crew of 31 skiers and boarders mounted up in the pre-dawn darkness to cruise to Kalamazoo to ski the lofty peaks of Timber Ridge. Laura Wiseman and Alisa Lewis were the leading recruiters as they both rounded up a posse! Laura upgraded from tubing last year to skiing this year as did Amanda Peet. “Tubes? We don’t need no stinking tubes!” They added that the free lesson from TR was quite helpful. The lofty spires of Timber Ridge were surprisingly uncrowded for a Saturday. The lift lines were minuscule. The longest I waited in line was 90 seconds! On many occasions Tim Deimling and Dan Smith skied through the chute and onto the chair without stopping. Marianne Watkins and Haley Atkinson did the same. Everyone got in all the skiing they wanted without waiting in line. The drive home found Kathy Stewart and Lyman Anderson in their usual seat keeping an eye on the driver! They have been on every Toucan trip. Dave Riethmiller used rock n’ roll trivia to award door prizes. As the sun set in the west, Haley distributed blow necklaces A Warren Miller film crackled on the monitors. The trip raised 116 pounds of food for the St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen and $777.00 for Honor Flight of NE Indiana. Look for Toucan Snow Adventure 11 in 2019! Your Pal Hal
