“Pirate’s Booty” Relay for Life

On January 31st, members of the Edison High KEY club gathered early in the morning to

Woodward Park for a community run. It was founded by “Relay for Life,” an organization that

raises money for cancer research and patients. The run was pirate themed, obvious through

the attire of the multitude of runners that morning. Luckily, there was no scurvy included. The

KEY club members were dispersed at stations across the race track, from start to finish. They

would hand water cups to the passerby, as well as help navigate new participants through

the course. One of the most prominent assistances made was in encouraging the participants

through cheers, pirate-themed puns, and high fives. Members always have their fair share of

spirit to go around when volunteering. After three hours of exciting service, the event was

buzzing with success.

Trojan Points

Each month, clubs will be awarded points based on the following criteria and the clubs with the

highest points by DCON 2015 will be awarded a pizza party for all its members.

Points will be awarded for:

1. Early Bird MRF – 10 points

2. On Time MRF – 5 points

3. DCM Attendance – 1 point per member

4. Divisional Event Attendance – 1 point per member

5. Fundraise for a charity – 15 points

6. Kiwanis DCM Attendance – 3 points per member

7. Turn in Articles & Visuals – 5 points
