Question from the Field: “I have heard the TRICARE Service Centers are closing, is this true”?
Yes. The TRICARE Service Centers in the United States will no longer provide walk-in service effective April 1, 2014. Beneficiaries can start using TRICARE's several convenient self-service options today, including toll-free telephone and online resources. The "I want to..." section at www.tricare.mil is your gateway to compare TRICARE plans and find answers to your benefit questions, enroll in or purchase a plan, file or check the status of a claim, view referrals and prior authorizations, find a doctor or change your primary care manager, manage prescriptions, update personal information, schedule appointments, and download forms and educational material. Beneficiaries can sign up to receive email updates about the TRICARE Service Center closures at www.tricare.mil/TSC, and for general TRICARE news and benefit changes at www.tricare.mil/subscriptions.
