Pastor Mary Anne's Message ...
Dear friends in Christ,
Have you ever seen the words, "Wash Me" inscribed on a dirty car or truck? This winter has been one when many of our cars could have been the recipients of that sign! There is a sign outside a carwash in my town that says — Salt: good for food, bad for cars! That is good advertising because if you are like me that white crust on my car drives me crazy; I can't wait to wash it, and quite frankly until the need for road salt is gone. And it seems that as soon as I wash the car another snow or ice event occurs, and the cycle repeats! Spring can't come soon enough!
I also know that when spring does come, I will find remnants of those salt crystals everywhere in the car, under the floor mats and hidden in every corner. I will also deal with those pesky crystals in my home on the floor and carpet!
Salt and dirty cars and possessions are everywhere. It is no coincidence that Jesus calls his disciples and followers, "salt of the earth". He knew that when we spread his word, we are like salt; we make an impact that is impossible to eradicate, and that impact can be found anywhere, even where you least ex-pect it.
We are also in need of daily washing because the things of this world make us dirty, and as soon as we feel clean the storms and even the tasks of daily life require us to be washed again.
We are washed in the waters of Baptism, and we are called to daily remember our baptism. As we are busy being salt to the world, flavoring it with God's love and the good news of the gospel, let us remember where we can go to get refreshed and renewed, cleansed in God's love.
In Christ,
Pastor Wag Anne

6:00-8:15pm Ages 3-12
We will learn about some of the people around the world who are our neighbors in the kingdom of
God and the work of ELCA World Hunger.
This year a light dinner is included, at 6pm. Mark your calendars!
Remember Psalm 98: 0 sing to the Lord a new song. (v. 1)
To sing is to be human...we just can't help it...and God loves our singing. Whether you are a good singer or a terrible one doesn't matter to Him...just SING! It doesn't matter if you have a good voice or just make a joyful noise...he loves us and loves to hear us...so SING out! Lift up your voice! Let God know how thank-ful you are and how wonderful He is. So today...as you are sitting in the pews...SING with joy and enthusi-
asm! Don't be shy or afraid. SING tc the Lord a new song, an old
song, any song. Just SING and let God be praised.
