A Few Reminders:

What appears to be an empty lot in West-brook today will be the site of three new homes, under construction, by late March. Weather permitting, Porter Panel and Truss will be erecting these homes using steel frames that were constructed in their assembly building on Presumpscot St (pictured right). All three frames will be transported to Westbrook and assembled by professionals in just one day! These homes will reside on Bremen St., recently built by RJ Grondin & Sons. Founda-tions are up next and Jeff Preble’s Con-crete is digging in and doing this portion of the work for us. This is a unique project that calls on friends of Habitat, new and old, to collaborate and build something of great value with local families, volunteers and the Westbrook community. Stay tuned for project updates and photos!

Just when we thought we would never see the end of winter, the weather warms and hundreds of people from the Greater Port-land community gather to support affordable housing by joining in Habitat’s Springtime Walks. Consider taking a walk for Habi-

tat in your community! :

Cumberland, N. Yarmouth, Yarmouth Good Friday Walk– Friday, April 2nd

Windham Walk– Saturday, April 17th

Falmouth Ecumenical Pet Walk– Saturday, May 8th

Portland Interfaith Walk– Sunday, May 23rd

Work continues at the Green Bean in Freeport as electrical, plumbing and heating professionals have completed the “rough-in” portion of the project. Last week, volunteers from St. Thomas Aquinas in Dover, NH made sure that Mikki Cote and her son Eli will have a well-insulated home to keep

them warm next winter! Flooring, drywall and painting are up next!
