Were you not able to attend church last Sunday? Would you still like to be able to listen to Ken’s sermon? How about letting your friends know about Covenant by getting a ‘taste’ of

Ken’s sermons? Well, you are in luck! Covenant’s website, www.covenantspringboro.com has audio recordings/podcasts of Ken’s latest sermons online! Just go to the website, and select

either Worship and then Podcast/Audio Sermons OR Media and then Podcast/Audio Sermons. To access the page directly, simply type in this address on your browser’s address line:

http://www.covenantspringboro.com/podcast.html ). Once you arrive on the ‘Podcasts Archives’ page, simply click on the date of the sermon that you’d like to listen to. If

you have a smart phone (ie: Android) you may follow the same procedure to listen to the sermon on your phone while on the go! If you have an iPhone, you can subscribe to the Podcast in

iTunes. Just click on the ‘Subscribe to Podcast in iTunes’ link on the Podcast Archives page. That’s all there is to it!

I WON’T FORGET!

Our One Great Hour of Sharing gifts support ministries of disaster response, refugee assistance and resettlement, and community development that help people find safe refuge,

start new lives and work together to strengthen their families and communities. We will receive this offering on Easter Sunday, April 8. We hope you will take the time to

read the weekly inserts in your worship guides, starting this month, and to please give generously. Thank you.

The Springboro Food Pantry needs volunteers to help with their move to Jonathan Wright Elementary School. They are currently

located in Clearcreek Elementary and will need help unloading supplies on Saturday, March 10 starting at 9:00 a.m. If you are interested in helping out, just show up! They are also in need of purchasing a new freezer/cooler unit and are accepting monetary donations. Another request: They are wanting to

switch from using boxes to reusable cloth bags. If you have any, drop them off at Clearcreek Elem. or the high school by March 2. You can call Julie Bernatz

at (937) 886-0441if you have any questions.

Assembly in order to support the missions and ministries of the larger church.

You can help with our operating needs by paying your share ($25.38 per member). Simply use the small blue envelope found in the front of your 2012 box of envelopes, include your

gift in your regular weekly offering (just mark the per capita amount on the “other” line on the envelope) or include a separate check with “per capita” noted in the memo space. Thanks for your ongoing support of the missions and ministries of the PC(USA).

As I write this I am still waiting for winter. As I write this plants are poking themselves out of the ground. I am hoping for one good snowstorm. I know I am in a minority with that request! Anyway, with warmer weather just around the corner I am aware that the season of Lent is almost here. Lent means lengthening, as the days are lengthening as springtime approaches. More daylight, less nighttime! Spring and summer are not too far away. Bring on the baseball season! Lent actually began on Ash Wednesday, February 22, and we celebrated communion on Feb 26, the first Sunday in Lent. For 40 days leading up to Easter (don’t count the Sundays!) we are reminded of Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness, being tempted as he prepared for his ministry. Lent is a time for self-examination:

how are we doing in our walk with the Lord? are we living as faithful disciples of Jesus in our relationships with others? what changes do we need to make to become better followers of the one we call Lord? Lent is traditionally a time to give up something. It can also be a time to take something on. Whatever we do spiritually our hope to become more and more like Christ. The Adult Ministry Team is planning an all-church event for March 4 – that’s almost here. We’ll join in a covered dish dinner starting at 5. I know that’s earlier than normal for our shared dinners! We are eating earlier because around 5:45 we’re going to watch “Flywheel,” a movie that may very well help us examine our lives a bit. There will be a time after the movie for discussion. We should be finished by 8:00. The whole family is invited. There will be activities for the children who don’t watch the movie. Join us! Remember – I’m still waiting on one good snowstorm! Ken
