Meet Mrs. ROSSO

How long have you been working at Donaldson? Since October 1, 2012 at Donaldson, 10 years at the high school and 17 years total with the district. What is your favorite color? Yellow Tell us about your family. I have been married 30 years to my husband Steve. We have 3 terrific daughters, Sarah is my oldest, finishing up her doctorate in Public Health, middle daughter Lau-ren, going to Pitt for Physical Therapy and finishes next year, my youngest daughter Lindsay , finishes next year with her Pharmacy Degree at Pitt also. Your favorite part of the day? Early morning before the hustle and bustle of the day begins! Your favorite movie? Holiday movie – It’s A Wonderful Life, Field of Dreams, & Les Mis with Hugh Jackman & Anne Hath-away. Your favorite food? Any type of seafood and grilled chicken salad. Your favorite subject when you were in school? History

We want to thank everyone who participated in our Box Tops and Label contest. We raised over 1700 Box tops and over 2800 Labels. Our winning classroom was Mrs. Campbell’s classes. On February 15th, the PTA sponsored an afternoon assembly performed by the Pittsburgh CLO. The Musical, We The People, was performed by professional actors just in time for our observation of President's Day. Through a series of sketches and songs, the show explored our Constitution and how it applies to our past, present and future. This educational and inspirational musical hopefully left the students with a bet-ter understanding of the founding of America, but also an appreciation for what makes this country unique. I would like to introduce myself to you whether you are brand new to Donaldson or if this is your 6th year at Donaldson Elementary. My name is Vicki Danzik and I am the new family liaison at Donaldson. I have three children in the West Allegheny School District. My oldest is Mackenzie who is in 7th grade at the middle school. I have two children here at Donaldson this year. Lindsay is in 4th grade and has Ms. Buser, and Jackson is in kindergarten and has Mrs. Cartisser. A question might be why a new family liaison. We want all of our families to feel comfortable with the ins and outs of Donaldson. We all have questions about things that go on throughout our school but don't know who to ask. I encourage you to get involved with Donaldson through the PTA. We are all a wel-coming group of moms and dads who want our kids to have a great time during and after school. Who: 4th, 5th, & 6th GRADES

When: Friday, April 12, 2013 Time: 6 – 8:30pm

Cost: $5 per swimmer (includes a slice of pizza)

Additional pizza, snacks and drinks will be sold at concessions
